Part 2: A Crow and the Sky

Deimos was pretty spicy. I can't use Helminth because Infested Salvage didn't give me any for Nidus rip. Some of those guns from Father tho(pre-nerf Kuva Bramma flashbacks). Anyway, here's the new chapter.

"What are those things?"

The two sat across from each other in Skye's personal quarters. When Qrow first entered the ship, he was surprisingly at ease, and seemed rather calm for being in an alien ship. MOA was folded up in the robotics section, no doubt charging. Hook was laying down, tongue out, fast asleep, while Claw was curled up against the large Kubrow.

Qrow wanted answers. He already knew little enough about Skye, even before Ozpin's death. All he knew was she was alien, and probably one of the most capable warriors in Remnant, though he wasn't sure exactly how good she was. But back at Beacon, when those strange floating creatures attacked, he saw the Tenno manage to kill dozens, while he and his attacks after a few seconds barely scratched the damned things.

Skye sighed, "They're called Sentients. Mechanical remainders of the Orokin Era. Originally, they were designed as agricultural tools so when the Origin System ran out of resources, the Orokin could move to the new system, the Tau System for new planets to live on. But the Sentients became self aware and their most powerful, Hunhow, realized that if the Orokin went to the Tau System, they would damage it just like they did to the Origin System. So they made it their duty to exterminate the Orokin. We Tenno are also remnants of the Orokin Empire, a group of child-warriors dedicated to serving the Empire. Since we're among the last of the Orokin, the Sentients want to destroy us. My guess is, for some reason they've decided that I was enough of a threat to come here and find me."

"How do we get rid of them?" Qrow asked.

The Tenno laughed coldly, "Killing one Sentient without Void energy is already an impressive feat. After taking a few hits, they gain near-complete immunity to that kind of damage. Hit them with a hammer, and their skin gets harder. Zap them with electricity, and they insulate themselves. I was lucky enough for a friend to give me a weapon designed to kill them." She opened her arsenal console and selected the Sentient Slayer Parascesis. The giant Orokin weapon glittered beautifully in the light. Qrow looked at the massive sword with a dry look in his eyes.

"So, on top of losing one of the four academies, the Grimm being more dangerous than ever, and the global communications shut down, we also have an extraterrestrial threat?"

Skye nodded, "But it's not all bad news. I've been receiving bits and pieces from the other four Blades-"

"What?"

"The Blades of the Lotus. The 5 most powerful and effective Tenno, who serve as leaders when our true leader isn't available. Currently, in order of their appointment, it's Saryn, Oberon, me, Rhino and Trinity. Anyway, as I was saying, I was receiving transmissions from them, meaning that they're at least within six million miles of this planet."

Qrow stood abruptly, "Six million?! Kid, help isn't very useful unless it gets here soon."

Skye just looked back at him, confused. "Is six million a large figure in space travel here? If they pinpoint my location then we only need to wait three or four weeks." Orbiters covered distance fast. From Mercury to Sedna, it only took about  a month and a half or so. Railjacks were even faster, and could complete an orbit in just two hours at maximum speed. And if they manage to find a portal, then they'd get here almost instantly. Skye thought.
