That was the last straw. Jaune activated his greatsword and ran at Cinder. She blocked with her own fiery blade, made from dust.

Skye raised her hands, conjuring two motes, haste and vitality. Instantly, all of her friends moved faster, and their auras maintained when they should've fallen. She nodded, before launching herself through the air towards Cinder. She produced her decoy, her true self vanishing, floating overhead. The Fall Maiden saw the decoy, threw Jaune back, and lobbed a ball of fire at it. But, instead of feeling impact, the figure vanished. Her eyes widened, before she heard the crackling of frozen air behind her.

Cinder whirled around and blocked the ice cold Nikana that was arcing towards her head with her sword of Dust. The area of contact steamed as the incredible heat of the Dust sword and the ridiculous cold of the Nikana met.

"Hi, it's good to see you again!" Skye said cheerily, taunting her opponent. Cinder just snarled and kicked the Tenno. She flipped back upright.

"Wow, you can actually hit me this time. It's easier when you're using all of your kinetic energy, isn't it?"

In Cinder's hand, a flame grew, until it was as large as a baseball. She threw it at Skye, who simply batted it aside with her sword. The frozen air temporarily melted before freezing again.

"Cool trick. My turn," Skye said. She raised her hands and opened the Sol Gate. Heat rivaling the sun's exploded forth, melting carpet, scorching wood, and blasting through aura. But Cinder withstood it only because of her Maiden powers.

Meanwhile, the rest of the combatants were blinded by the heat and light. Qrow and Raven were so close that they started to sweat immediately.

The Tenno, swing that her adversary wasn't unconscious yet, widened the Gate. More heat flared through the room. The wooden pillars holding up the room caught on fire. The stone parts of the building began to melt. Cinder was about to collapse from the heat.

And the Gate closed. The heat was once again slowly sapped away by the Nikana. Confused, Skye looked at her hands, then her energy reserves.

"No energy?! But I was sure I still had-" The Fall Maiden took this opportunity to strike the Tenno. Her blade came down, ready to cut the Warframe in half. It met flesh, and... it didn't penetrate.

Wide eyed, Cinder realized that Skye had stopped the weapon with her bare hands.

"Vitality Mote really is useful isn't it?" Though she said it nonchalantly, she was worried. Her only source of energy was the Energy Siphon mod, boosted by Coaction Drift. That supplied her with only one energy per second. Getting back to her maximum 700 was going to be tough. She was lucky that her motes lasted around five minutes.

Jaune came out of nowhere, striking at Cinder, allowing Skye to take a moment to think. How was she going to win this without her energy?

A flash of orange flew by, followed by an ominous smack. Skye looked over, eyes wide at the sight of Weiss, impaled by a Dust javelin.

Cinder ran to the half melted statue, which lowered into an elevator. Lionheart was no longer in the platform, nor was he anywhere to be seen. Raven and her attendant, seeing the opportunity, jumped down after Cinder.

The Tenno grimaced, before trying to run to the elevator shaft to jump down, but she felt a massive impact at her waist. She slammed into the pillars along the walls. Dazed, she looked up, and saw the massive man from earlier standing where she had been. She groaned and pulled herself up.
