CHAPTER FORTY-SIX
'a teen boy's feelings'"Hm..." You glanced at the map in front of you, then up to the signs next to the abnormally huge doors. "Class 1-A... oh. Here it is."
Shoto slid open the heavy door for you, walking inside after. "You never like getting up early."
"I know, but it's the first day," you said, checking out the spacious room. "It's strange that there's one desk changing the layout of the room. I didn't know they'd allow twenty-one people in this class for the hero course."
"We both did the recommendations test and tied. It would be unfair if the people taking the entrance exams were reduced because of us," Shoto replied, choosing the back seat.
You pouted, leaning on his new desk. "I thought we agreed to sit at the front instead of always being at the back? My eyes aren't getting better you know."
"I prefer it here." Shoto shrugged at your face, taking out his novel to read. "It's an old habit. Just wear the glass your father suggests."
"They're uncomfortable. No thanks." You turned and walked to the front of the room where there were five desks instead of the pattern of four. You placed your bag on the seat between two empty ones, one away from the wall and three away from the door, "I'm going to sit here, is that alright?"
"Sure." Shoto looked up, then looked back at the pages of his book, nodding. "You could always sit next to me for the projects if you end up lonely."
"You rarely talk to anyone, Shoto." You walked back to him, lifting to see the title of the book. "'A Song of Ice and Fire'? I know Martin is a good author, but it's your fifth time reading this. Are you still a House Stark fan?"
He shut the book quickly and looked up at you, furrowing his brows. "What's so good about the Targaryens?"
"Hold your horses, I'm just asking if you've changed your opinion on them. Don't go arguing about who I stan in those books," you laughed, waving him off. "But really, I've been saying this for the longest time but you should read more romance books. Get your heart broken so much more so that real ones don't hurt, you get me?"
"That doesn't sound healthy."
"I know but it's gotten me this far."
You both heard someone slide open the door, you looked up from the book. Shoto too, gaze turning from you to the boy who just walked in.
For the past few years, it had only been you and Shoto. You leaving your old middle school caused your 'friendships' to break apart, but Shoto was fun to be around despite being anti-social at times.
You both made a pact to make friends this year, only you made it actually, so on the way to this classroom, you said to him that you would talk to the very first person who walked through.Shoto wasn't bothered much by your antics and picked up his book, flipping to the page where he left off before you questioned him about his preferred house. He didn't really want to take part but kept an ear out to listen to what you were going to do, watching you approach the unapproachable person.
"Hey, do I know you?" You said, walking up to the blond. You took in his scruffy appearance, no tie, loose trousers and his white shirt crinkled under the blazer that hugged his biceps with his first two buttons unbuttoned carelessly. "I think I've seen you somewhere."
