CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE
'rule four'You walked through the doors of your dorm to see everyone spread on the sofas quietly while also deciding to toss away what had happed a few hours ago for a later hour, most likely during dusk where you were wide awake thinking about life.
Your homeroom teacher was the first to notice your arrival. He nudged some of the students who were awake from their short slumber as they waited for your return.
"Do you guys know how many doses of medicine capsules it takes to overdose?" You asked no one in particular.
They shrugged. Mina stood, tears falling down her pink face. "How m-many?"
"I don't know, but seventeen isn't it," you laughed lightly, opening your arms for her for the hug you knew she was wanting.
She ran to you, gently wrapping her arms around your body. You return the gesture and accepted the other 'welcome back' embraces your classmates gave you.
"Thank goodness you're safe," Ochaco said, leaning her head onto your bare shoulders with Tsu. "You really outdid yourself."
The boys jogged up as the girls let go, the warm feeling that the girls gave you soon replaced by their big bear hugs.
One was more quiet than usual as he walked up to you. Your best friend stool still, scanning your appearance for any obvious injuries. Shoto knew that you were worried about him instead of yourself first. That was just the type of person you were. He noticed your soft glances at him, explaining through eye contact that he was asking you how his father was doing.
"The doctors said he will be out in a few days. His isn't as bad as he looks."
You winced, the effectiveness of the painkillers fading away as the slight pang returned to your body. Shoto came closer to you to catch you carefully as you fell forward.
"You're hurt," he muttered.
"Yeah, is it obvious?" You playfully said, obliging to wrap your arm around his shoulders, aiding you to stay upright. "Where's Katsuro?"
Kirishima ran to help you on the side opposite to Shoto. "After the news was over, they both went into his room. He said something along the lines of 'shut it, extras. She's fine' and took a nap with Katsuro. The little guy was worn out so much!"
"Ah. Okay, tell him that I'm back when he wakes..." You started to lose your balance, the floor became a tempting resting place for a few hours instead of walking to your room. "...up, um— could you guys take me to Recovery Girl?"
"Of course," Shoto and Kirishima nodded, helping you to the main school building with Aizawa as students weren't usually allowed inside the main building at this evening hour.
Once you got there, the two boys helped you onto the bed and then Recovery Girl walked over to examine you, closing the curtains for privacy. She lifted her walking stick and lightly tapped on your abdomen and limbs. You winced, teeth clenching tightly together. "Ouch..."
"Did you get hit in any way?" The elderly woman asked you, bringing over an X-Ray machine to scan your bones as you laid down.
Shaking your head, you declined. "Ribs started after— I overused my quirk. I probably got hit during or just before the minute jumped."
