I was watching TV when Ahmad came into the living room. I stared at him for a moment, and I couldn't help but wonder why he has changed completely.

My first impression of him was, He is too perfect and sweet. No man like this actually exist outside of romance novels. I smelt a fraud, but I was too enchanted

While he was looking at the real me, I was busy gazing at a fantasy, a perfectly imperfect guy. I saw what he wanted me to see and here we are now

I quickly changed the station before he took his seat, I switched it back to his station, where they are airing a reality tv show. He warned me earlier that when the show starts, I shouldn't change the station, it should always be on the same station

We were watching the show when I noticed a girl that looks under aged, and I passed a harmless comment

"If I were her, I wouldn't use a green hair extension. Her complexion is a little too dark for lemon green" I said, not expecting a reply from Ahmad as usual

"You're darker in completion than her, She is way more prettier than you are. Do you think you can compare yourself with her? You must be joking" Ahmad told me

"I hate watching Tv with you, you watch tv like one of those villagers that is just discovering what a tv is. Can't you keep your comments to yourself and let me watch in peace? without any distractions?" He asked

"Alright, I'll be heading to the kitchen now" I said, vacating the chair I once occupied. But I was interrupted by Ahmad

"Why is your foot so flat?" He asked, looking at my legs

I looked at him with surprise evident in my eyes, I couldn't believe the words that just came out of his mouth.

I never insulted any part of his body, not even his slightly disfigured middle finger or his oversized lips. But here he is insulting my foot and my complexion. The most tragic part is, he thinks he is perfect.

I thought of a thousand things I could body shame him with, But still, I chose not to reply. I reserved my comments. I wasn't brought up that way, I am not a monster and I am not heartless. I ignored him and went to the kitchen.

After finishing my chores, I headed to Ummy's house to spend some time with them as I have been instructed by Ahmad

I was about to step in when I heard Ummy talking to someone, it was more like a scold. I quickly glanced through the window and I saw Muhseen. Ummy was scolding Muhseen for something he has done wrong, like a child who was caught red handed stealing a piece of meat from the neighbors pot

Muhseen is Ahmad's younger brother, and one of Ummy's favorite children. He is a bit different from all of his siblings, But that has brought him a handful of misfortunes for it is a taboo to be different from how exactly Ummy wanted her children to be

He is the only one amongst her children that doesn't betray himself by pretending to be someone else. He doesn't apologise for being himself, he looks like the kind of person who would ask for an apology if other people want him to be something else, other than his own self

He lets his truth scream louder to his soul than the lies that have surrounded and started to infect him. He never takes part in his family's games and plots, and he never saw me as an enemy or a competitor
