SYDNEY’S P.O.V

I prepared all my file cases untuk dibawa ke mahkamah, I have 2 case management hearing at the sessions court today… last untuk tahun ini sebelum saya bercuti… and when I return to office, I’m already a married man… dubs dabs dubs dabs jantung saya berdetak just imagining me carrying the title ‘husband’ and soon ‘daddy’…

Life couldn’t be more happier, more blissful than this… Not even in my dreams could I have imagined I’ll be more in love than I used to be… 

Saya tersenyum-senyum sendiri macam dungu ni…

TOK TOK TOK… Bella opened my office door…

“Syd… don’t forget Christmas Eve at my place tonight…” Bella mengingatkan saya banyak kali sudah…

“yeah, did you call Rara to pujuk her?” saya tanya Bella… Bella pun tau yang Jelo belum mau berkunjung to my family’s residences selagi ada Lilia berdekatan…

“I’ll call her…” Bella bilang…
“aite, princess…” saya mengangguk…

“you need to stop calling me princess, Syd…” Bella rolled her eyes… “I’m a married woman now, you make me sound like Irish and Jamaica…” hahahaha… that’s what Jordan panggil his daughters…

“you’ll always be my pwincess…” saya mencubit pipi Bella… “alolololo…”

“iisshh, bikin panas…” Bella menepis tangan saya… “tidak lama you’ll have your own pwincesses juga… eee! Jangan cubit-cubit bah, munyit…”

Sebenarnya saya hairan bah ni… first time Christmas Eve dinner bukan at our parents’ house… it’s so traditional for us to have Chrismas Eve dinner at my parents sebab itulah malam di mana the kids and also adults unwrap our presents…

“why the because, Bells?” saya tanya…

“I have a big present to give everybody…” Bella kasi big juga tangan dia…

“a big present for everybody?” saya mengerutkan dahi, kehairanan…

Like all of us going to share one present? present apa tu? saya jadi bingung ni…

Ngam-ngam pintu office saya terbuka buat kali kedua…

“sorry, sir…” Jesty minta maaf dan saya yakin dia sedang cuba mengumumkan kedatangan seseorang yang paling saya tidak mau bersemuka dengan…

“you can go now…” LILIA. Did she just instructed Jesty to leave?

“ah, Lia…” Bella smiled at Lilia… WOW. satu perubahan? “you’re invited too…”

“invited?” Lilia looked ecstatic…

“yeah, Christmas Eve dinner at my place tonight… 8pm…” another WOW, Bells… saya mampu terdiam membisu saja… gara-gara terlampau terkejut…

Tiada angin, tiada ribut… Bella tiba-tiba memaafkan Lilia?

“Bells…” akhirnya saya bersuara… she read my expression…

Bella gave me a peck on the cheek sambil membisik…
“trust me…”

Sebelum Bella melangkah keluar, Lilia menghampiri Bella dengan wajah yang gembira…

“can I hug you, Bells?” tidak lagi dia menunggu jawapan Bella, dia terus memeluk Bella dengan erat… “saya tau last-last hati kau akan cair juga, Bells… I miss you so much, BFF…”

Bella’s hands on her sides… dia tidak membalas pelukan Lilia… saya nampak muka Bella lain-lain sudah… okay, so Bella ada gimmick ni kan… she has not forgiven Lilia… so what’s dinner and the present for? saya sedar ketidakselesaan Bella…
