HOLLAND’S P.O.V

It’s Christmas Eve…

“2 weeks gonna be over, Than…” I reminded Thania… memang hubungan kami merenggang sejak kehadiran Lilia di rumah saya…

Thania berdiam…

“you gave me your word…” a reminder yet again… “I’ve gone against my family because of your word… do you know how that makes me look? do you know how mom and dad feel? yes, you do… but no, you don’t care because you want to act like a Saint to help someone who ruined my brother…”

Kalau bukan kerana saya sangat mencintai my wife, and my children means the world to me, tidak akan saya menurut permintaan Thania… saya boleh menerima kalau dia mau bawa Lilia tinggal berdua di condo kosong milik family dia… but not take my kids away from me…

“why are you not talking?” I’m getting annoyed… “jangan kau mau minta tambahan masa untuk Lilia…”

Then Thania looked at me with guilt in her eyes…
“Love… Lil…”

“you don’t love love saya sana, Thania!” naik temper saya… astaga… this is the first time saya menengking Thania sejak kami kahwin…

“Holland!” Thania snapped back at me… “she has nightmares every night, setiap malam dia menangis screaming for help in her sleep…!”

“I’m not going to buy this Lilia thing anymore… you bring her to stay with you in the condo kalau kau mau sangat tolong dia…” saya bilang… “I don’t give a fuck about her…”

“I’ll bring the kids with me…” Thania berkeras…

“Try…” ni kali saya lagi berkeras…

“I will do it…” yes, she is Nathania Ong… she will do what she says she will do…

Setiap perselisihan yang timbul dalam rumahtangga kami yang hampir didirikan selama 10 tahun, dapat diselesaikan dengan kedua-dua kami berkompromi… we complement each other too well… but not this time… this time melibatkan hati adik saya, hati bakal ipar saya, hati ibubapa saya… Thania sangat menjaga Lilia, tanpa dia sedar telah melukai hati orang lain… and I need to make her realize that family is important… bukan orang luar…

“I said try…” saya mengulang kata-kata saya…

“and I will do it, Holland…” Thania menggertak saya…

I’m not gonna be moved with her threats this time…

“you try…” suara saya mengeras… “and the first thing you’ll get at your doorstep, is our divorce papers…”

I didn’t really mean it… tapi melihat muka Thania yang terkejut sampai muka dia terpucat sangat memuaskan hati saya…

“just because I want to help someone in need, Hol?” mata Thania berkaca-kaca…

“you have 3 days…” saja saya cakap and walked out of our room…

“where are you going?!” Thania called out to me in anger… it’s 1am… memanglah dia tanya saya mana saya mau pergi…

“I’m sleeping with Nathan…” I slammed the door shut…

I stood frozen outside our bedroom door, listening to Thania’s sobs… tergerak hati saya mau memujuk dia, tapi ego saya lebih tinggi… I walked away, towards Nathan’s room…

It’s 8pm… hampir semua sudah sampai… I brought my kids first, saya suruh Thania datang dengan Lilia lambat sikit… That’s what Bella wants…
