"I bought a couple of things, but I’m still struggling with a present that gives a ‘Wow’ factor” I confess. This is when I see Kayla smile at me. Oh crap, I know that smile. “Next weekend me and you are going shopping for that ‘Wow’ factor present”. I wish I was still sick as this will be torture.

Lexi’s POV

Tis the season to be jolly.

I love Christmas. The food, the company and songs. Speaking of songs, I'm currently dancing around the living room putting the decorations up to The Poges Fairy Tale of New York

"... the boys of the NYPD choir were singing Galway Bay and the bells will be ringing out for Christmas day".

Shido was helping me with the decorations, so when the ending of the song came on; I pulled him into the centre of the room and danced with him. "You really are excited about Christmas" he chuckled.

I placed my arms around his waist and snuggled into his chest, "I love the feeling around Christmas time. Everything just seems that much better. Plus, I now have a boyfriend I can openly kiss under mistletoe".

Shido picks me up so that I'm eye level with him and I wrap my legs around his waist. "You can kiss me any time, but having the chance to publicly declare that you are mine under mistletoe is very appealing" he smirks. I can feel the blush spread across my cheeks before I leaned in and pecked him on the lips, "Sounds like a plan" I smile.

"Ahem" we both look to the side to see dad, Altan and Batb looking at us. Altan was smiling, Batb just blushed and my dad....well I think you can guess what a feral cat looks like pissed off. I slide down to the floor and face my family.

It's funny really. Family. No matter how many times I say that, it always makes me smile.

"The decorations look great Lexi. You're heading over to Tennoji’s to help out too?" Altan asks.

"What? She is?". For God's sake dad, chill.

"Yep. I'm heading over today and staying there for the night. Then helping out tomorrow" I informed them of the plan and of course my dad objected, but Altan put him in his place and he started to sulk.

I ran up behind dad with a tinsel crown placing it on his head before hugging him, “Anyway, you need to focus on making this Christmas special for your good lady”. Dad turned to look at Altan, who was taking a picture on her phone of us, smiling. Dad smiled at her just as Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’ started and walked over to her, pulling her into the middle of the room, dancing and trying to sing. Hence the empathise on trying. Yet it was a precious moment.

Once the decorating was complete; Shido, Batb and I headed to the dojo for our last training session before Christmas. Kayla and Saki were already at the dojo and I received a message from Saki to not be surprised when I get there. My gut was telling me that Kayla had done something and on arrival at the dojo...........

......my feeling was correct. The dojo was decorated from floor to ceiling with tinsel, lights, snowflakes and red ribbons everywhere. There was even a tree in the corner. No matter how many times I’m looking at this and thinking it’s just a dream, it doesn’t disappear.
