Chapter 18 - Nationals!

Lexi’s POV

The morning was clear and hot, perfect weather for a summer day and to work on your tan.....

NOT!

I’m a pale skin, red head who has never tanned in her life and has to wear sun cream even when the sun peaks out slightly from behind the clouds. I don’t do well in the heat, so that’s why I’m wearing shorts and a t-shirt to the Nationals and have a hand held fan to keep me cool.

We were on the bus heading to the hotel and I felt like I was dying. The only thing keeping me cool was the icepack Shido bought with him to cool me down. When I asked him about it, he mentioned that Kayla told him to have cooling supplies on hand to help me cope through this inferno. I swore on my honour as a Brit that I would love this man until the day I die. 

We arrived a few hours later and got ourselves checked in. Whilst the coach had a meeting with the guys, us girls, yes both Saki and Kayla; somehow Kayla has become like manager or cheer member for the team; went to the venue.
Reason?
One, I want to see what the venue's like and secondly I want to see who was coming through to the high school division next year.

Watching bout after bout was thrilling, however there was one wrestler who caught my eye.

‘Final bout for the individual tournament. On the east side – Kai. On the west side – Sada’ the commentator announced.

Sada Mizuki.
His form is quite amazing really. No one has been able to grab his mawashi belt and he is very light on his feet. His build isn’t as big as some of the other wrestlers, but he certainly is showing who the better wrestler was.

“Spirit”

The bout begins and it was over before anyone had time to blink. ‘West side wins’

Sada Mikzuki became a middle school Yokozuna and was gifted with the name of Mikazuki Munechika as his moniker. Another National Treasure was born, however he didn’t look happy about it.

Wonder why?

We stood up to leave as nature called, “You girls go ahead. I’m going to make pit stop and I’ll meet back at the hotel” I said.
“Okay Lexi. See you back there” Kayla answered before they both left.
After sorting myself out, I left the bathroom and started to make my way to the exit. My phone buzzed and I saw it was a message from Shido. Before I could answer it, I crashed straight into a wall and fell on my backside.
“Ow ow ow”, I don’t now what hurts worst – my nose or my butt.
“Sorry about that” the wall spoke. I looked up confused as walls don’t talk and continued to look up until I think my neck dislodged itself and I saw the wall I crashed into was Hikage Tenma.
Before I could say anything he took my arm and pulled me up onto my feet. Christ he was strong, he picked me up like it was nothing.

It was then I realised that some of his team where behind him. “Well hello there sexy” said one member with crew cut blonde hair and is that a goatee beard? He took my hand and raised it to his lips “Would you like to join us for some food and drinks, I’m sure you’ll have a good time” and winks.
Someone pass me a bucket. Does this guy seriously think that pick up lines work? However, you can’t mistake his flirtatious nature as him being weak. Sera Takumi, a strong contender for the powerhouse school Kanazawa Kita.
