Chapter 17 - Preparations and exams

"So uncle Jack. Lexi invited all the guys and Saki over for a sleepover. You're cool with all of us sleeping in the living room, right?" Kayla was trying to blindside Jack with her smile. Jack just shook his head defeated, "Fine. I trust you lot. No funny business or I'll kick you out. I have clothes you boys can borrow".

"Thank you sir" we bowed.

Lexi's POV

I told Saki and Kayla my story and as we went to the where the guys were I heard my dad telling the story with a lot more detail than I did.

By the end of it Saki and Kayla were crying. What had my heart pounding was when my dad asked Shido to take care of me. Shido soon promptly replied. "Jack-san. I will keep our promise of defending my title and show that I am worthy to have your blessing".
I couldn't help but chuckle at the response from my dad, "Haha. I can see why Lexi likes you. I think we'll get in alright, but if you upset her again like you did last time" his smile turned to a sinister one "then I'll break every bone in your body".

There was slight pause before I heard, "Good. Lexi you can come on out. Story time is over now".
We revealed ourselves to the others. I looked at my dad with a sad smile and I could see how much my dad misses my mum. He took off his wedding ring a long time ago, but he keeps it on a chain around his neck. He once said that he wants to keep it as close to his heart as possible.

When it was time to call it a night, I lead uncle Yama and Sosuke to the door to see them off.
"It was good to see uncle Yama and you too Sosuke-kun. I can't believe how big you got" I said with a smile. "It was good to see you too Lexi-chan and well done for your team winning the prelims" uncle Yama hugged me.
I pulled away and looked at Sosuke who had a small blush on his face.

I walked up to Sosuke and gave him a hug. I felt him tense up before putting his arms around me. "I know you'll be in the ring soon. You just need a push from the right person" I whispered. I pulled away and saw that Sosuke looked surprised by my statement.

As uncle Yama and Soskue walked out of the house and I called out, "I'll see you at next year's National Tournament Sosuke-kun. You're a true sumo wrestler who can't be out the ring for long". Sosuke looked back and gave me a sincere smile before heading off.

I headed back into the house and saw everyone had moved into the living room, moving furniture to make way for the air mattresses and sleeping covers.

"Looks like everyone's getting ready" stating the obvious. "Yeah, your dad said it was okay as long as no funny business happens" Kayla said with a smile. I raised my eyebrow at her, "And that goes double for you, Kayla. No assaulting Aki-san in the night". Aki dropped the pillows he was holding because he was so startled and looked at Kayla with a blush taking over his face.
"Fine" she rolls her eyes, "I promise to keep my hands to myself for the time being".
"Good, otherwise I'll put a banning order on you being anywhere near Aki-san for the next 3 months" I pointed at her.
"NNNNOOOOO" Kayla wails and kneels down in front of me, grabbing onto my ankle, "I promise, I promise, I promise. I will not do anything funny. Please don't ban me from being near my Aki".
I looked up from where Kayla was kneeling to the boys and see them smirking at Aki, who looked like he was about to die from embarrassment.

"Well now we have an agreement in place, let's get ready to sleep. I'm buggered". I yawn. I grab Kayla by the scruff of the neck and say "Come Saki-chan. Us girls will sort ourselves out, then the boys can" and I drag Kayla, who was still sniffling, with me to get ready for bed.
