Get some sleep kitten, we have a few more days here then back home”. I leaned up and kissed his chin, “Goodnight Shido”.

“Goodnight Lexi” was all I heard before sleep took me over.

The camp has been great and the guys have worked hard.

Bring on Nationals.

Lexi’s POV

Nationals was just around the corner for us and every one of my guys were working hard. Since the Sugadaira camp, there has been a few developments. First one, it seems Sky’s feller is treating her well and she even paid a visit to gramps after the training week to uncle Shiba’s stable at Nagoya and the other affiliated stables.

Secondly and surprisingly, she met Ushio, but what’s not surprising is she got into some training with Sae-san and the other Sekitoris. Looks like the girl showed them a thing or two from what uncle Shiba and Sae-san texted. That’s a wolf for you.

The third one is that the current Yokozuna, Jinou, stopped for a visit at Hakurou due to the school being his alma mater. He certainly was exactly what I’d expect of a Yokozuna both in strength and in arrogance.

Of course, this attracted the media like moths to a flame.

I stood off to one side whilst the camera crew and presenter moved around the dojo for the interview. However, both Kayla and I were ready to beat the living crap out of the presenter as she was constantly giggling and flirting with not only Shido, but with Aki too.

“Dibs I pull her hair out” Kayla gritted out through clenched teeth and I responded in the same manner, “Then I kick her out of the dojo so she lands on her face”.

“Deal”, she huffed.

“Ready and we’re rolling”, the director called.

Presenter: “The hype for high school sumo is reaching a fever pitch. On today’s segment, I’ll be taking a trip and visiting the powerhouse that’s favoured to win the Inter-High, a record seven times in a row: Tottori Hakurou High School. The Tottori Hakurou sumo club is famous for being a place where Mongolian exchange students are trained side-by-side with Japanese wrestlers. They’ve produced many talented athletes, but perhaps the most notable one is today’s strongest Yokozuna, Jinou. In fact, he recently visited his alma maters in order to train with current members of the team. But Yokouzun Jinou’s attention was specifically focused on cultivating the talents of the school’s most promising high-school sumo wrestler: Dojikiri Yasutsuna aka Tennoji Shido”. The presenter points the microphone up to Shido and even makes flattering eyes at him. My eyebrow starts to twitch at her constant flirting.

“Hello. I’m the team captain Tennoji” he states. The presenter just smiles at him before speaking, “You’re a tall one. Are you sure you’re in high-school?” What the hell is with the cutesy voice? My hands clenched at trying to stay rooted to the spot. “Believe me”, Shido drawls, “There will be plenty of people my size at the finals. I’m the favourite to win my third individual title this year. But it won’t be easy. The competition’s fierce”

“You’re so modest. But you’ve won every official match you’ve contested since entering high school. So, what would you say is the secret to your incredible success?”, the reporter asks.

“Secret?” Shido repeats, thinking his question over no doubt and how best to answer, “Let’s see, I honestly don’t feel there’s anything particularly special I do. I’m not the son of a Yokozuna or an Ozeki’s brother. If anything, maybe it’s because I have a greater love for sumo than anyone else does. There’s nothing in my life I’m more passionate about. As a result, I seem to train harder than everyone else. That’s how I ended up being the strongest” he says into the camera with a vicious smile. The challenge has been openly set to the other high school wrestlers.
