Chapter 21 - National Champions Part 2

“We never know what the future holds, so don’t give up now”. Unbeknownst to them, the future events are closer to the statement than they know.

** Somewhere at a Middle School in Chiba**

“Hinomaru Ushio wake up. Stop falling asleep in class”

“Sorry Sir” replied a built, yet quite short boy with red and black hair.

Lexi’s POV

**Warm up area at the Nationals**

The atmosphere was thick with tension. It was the finals and the guys were focused on the end goal. Not wanting to break their concentration, I stood to one side with Saki and had the water bottles ready along with some towels. 

'Can the teams Hakurou and Eiga please go to the ring? The finals are about to commence' the announcer broadcast.

The coach looked at the team "Let's go" 

"YOSH"

As the guys walked out into the arena, the crowd cheering could shake mountains. 

"HAKUROU. HAKUROU. HAKUROU" The rest of the team in the stands were just as pumped. As Eiga High entered, the roar from the crowd was just as loud. 

I stood behind the guys and off to the side. I saw their eyes were burning bright to take the victory. I looked over to Eiga and saw them......holding Hyoudou in a head lock? Wait what?

Sawai actually has Hyoudou in a headlock and Daniel is trying to stop them. "Take this seriously you idiot", Sawai shouted at Hyoudou and the idiot in question was laughing "I am, but this is fun plus we get to see that babe of a manager from Hakurou".

Please shut him up, the entire venue can hear that blabber mouth talking. I take a sneak peak look over at Shido and, yep, he's pissed. If the gritting of the teeth and the growling didn't make it clear then the look in his eyes that practically said "I'm going to bury you" would certainly spark warning alarms in your head. 

But when you're a numbskull like Hyoudou you tend to lack that sense. “Hey Lexi-chan” I looked back towards him and saw that he had escaped his captor, who was being held back by Daniel and was standing near the ring flexing his muscles. ”We meet again. Watch me and my muscles win this bout for you. Afterwards we can grab a drink”.
I don’t think my eyes could get any bigger, if they could then they would be popping out of my skull. It’s official this guy was a few screws loose. He must have been present when Shido kissed me in front of everyone, so why? 

I look over to Shido to see that Aki and Masomi are standing on either side of him, holding him back.
Ah, this makes sense now.
He’s trying to make Shido lose his focus.

Right time for action.

I walked over to Shido with my head held high, stood in front of him and waited until he looked at me. When he did, I could see a beast lurking in the depths wanting to break free. I grabbed both sides of his face, pulled him down to my height and placed my forehead on his. 

“Listen to me Tennoji Shido. Don’t lose focus to a jerk like that. Hakurou is strong. You’re strong. Remember I’m yours and you’re mine. No one is going to change that. Okay?” I felt him nod his head against mine. I blushed slightly thinking how cheesy that line was and pulled back to look at him and saw his clear blue orbs staring back at me. The beast has been subdued, for now at least. 

Shido took my left hand from his cheek and kissed the palm. “Thank you Lexi”. I nod my head and move back to bench. I look back over to Eiga and see Hyoudou making a sour face as if he was sucking on a lemon. ‘Bleh’ I stick my tongue out at him. May not be professional or mature, but I’m annoyed that he tried to pull a cheap trick like that on Shido.
