Chapter 45 - Entering the Pro Leagues

I’m glad I came back to London to see it again. I can’t wait to go back home to Japan, but I know that I will come back here as often as I can. It is after all a place of many good memories.

Tennoji’s POV

The trip to London was fantastic.

The city certainly is everything people say it is and the ending wasn’t so bad.

The rest of the year went by quickly and before we knew it, it was Christmas. By now I was a full fledged member of the Nagota stable. Yeah, that’s right. I was intrigued with Master Shunkai’s idea and signed myself up to the stable. When I told Lexi, she looked at me before saying, “Well, there’s a pretty good university nearby with a sports science programme, plus flats are pretty cheap around there. We need to look at one in walking distance of the stable and the school”. I kissed her before she could say anymore. I really did love this girl. I moved out and am currently staying at the stable until Lexi can join me. It was hard to leave her behind, but she just smiled and told me that she’ll see me out here. I’m excited for when she does move here, so we can start our lives together.  

Ozeki and Kirihito from Odachi also joined the stable whilst I know Onimaru went to Master Shibakiyama’s stable. I have declared that he is my forever rival as I know we’ll always have bouts at all the tournaments. 

Aki is looking at university and all the girls were jealous of Kayla’s ring. Masamoi was looking at different things for the future and not just sumo, whilst Batb and Shin will continue on at Hakurou; but I don’t think they’ll be there for long. Not with their talent. 

Training was in session before we had a few days to ourselves and spend some time with our families. Master Shunyuu is as tough as Master Shunkai is. Each day I feel that I can just about make it back to my futon before collapsing. “Okay, break time” Master Shunyuu calls out. 

“Hey Tennoji-san. Someone’s here to see you”, Ozeki called out. I turned to see an angel standing at the doorway. Lexi was standing there with the biggest smile on her faced and an envelope in her hand. My little kitten had been waiting for the results of the university entrance exam and looking at her smile, it seems to be good news. I walked over, picked her up and hugged her, twirling around. “Eeek, Shido put me down. You’re all sweaty”, she screeched/giggled, slapping my shoulder.

I set her down and placed my palms on her cheeks to see that radiant smile which I haven’t seen in weeks. “Hey kitten”, I smiled. 

“Hey sweaty. Well what do think this says?” she says holding up the envelope. I kissed her temple, “Judging by your smile I guess it’s good news”, I smirked knowing full well my kitten passed. She was after all a little smarty pants. She nods, “Yeah. I got in, full honours. Which means when school ends, I’ll be moving out here with you”.

“Well done Lexi. I am proud of you”, I said as I press my forehead against hers like we always did. 

“Alright, love birds” Master Shunyuu calls out with a small smile. He loves Lexi as much as Master Shunkai and the other top stable masters, “You’ll make the singles in the room jealous. Lexi-chan, stay to watch. I know Tennoji works hardest with you around”. 

Lexi nods her head and bows to Master Shunyuu before moving to sit next to him on the platform. Training continues and I felt a smile stretch across my face during the practise bouts with having my girl here. It was the best practice I had in a while.

A few hours later, training concludes. From picking up on snippets of Lexi’s conversation with the Master, she was going over what courses she has applied for at the university and how she can help around the stable for the wrestlers. The Master seemed impressed and delighted to have Lexi join the ranks.
