Chapter 55 - Hinomaru returns

Tomorrow will be interesting", Lexi said as she walks next to Dojikiri.

"Yeah, it'll be interesting if Onimaru can keep up this sinister approach before he realises that it's the wrong path; especially who he's facing".

Eastern Yokozuna - Jinou vs 3rd seat of western Maegashira - Onimaru

'Please let him be okay', she silently prays.

Lexi's POV

The bout for Ushio and Jinou was finally upon us. I was a nervous wreck. I've been up most of the night worried and talking with Reina on the phone. She told me that she went to the Yokozuna's stable and spoke with him and his wife about how to be there for Ushio. My friend was in pain and I couldn't help calm her fear because I had the same concern as her.

'We are reaching the end of today's bouts. In one corner we have Jinou. In the other corner we have Onimaru', was announced.

I grip Shido's hand hard as I watch both wrestlers enter the ring. It seems Ushio was still in this manic state.

"You okay kitten?"; Shido asks as he pulls me in and encircles me in his arms.

I shook my head; "No, I'm not okay. I feel like I'm about bring everything up from my stomach. Doesn't Ushio-kun realise he is making a lot of people worried?".

Shido kisses my temple; "Don't worry Lexi. He'll come to his sense and when he does, I'll beat him hard for making my wife worry".

I let out a half-hearted chuckle as I keep my eyes trained on the ring.

As I watch the bout play out, Ushio was still on his suicide mission; but strangely it looks like Jinou was giving him advice during the match.

"If you fail to find happiness in this moment, then you are no sumo wrestler", Jinou declares.

Shido chuffes, "I swear, this is more like a training bout".

"But do think it will help?", I asks.

He looks at me, smiling and drew me close to his body, "Yeah. He's telling Onimaru the facts; about how he has lost sight of not only his surroundings, but the face of his opponent and what better way to tell him than in the sumo ring itself".

Both wrestlers were chest to chest in a grapple and from understanding what I've learnt over the years; they're no doubt communicating with each other. By some miracle, may be Jinou will bring Ushio back.

No one's POV

Lexi was right. The two wrestlers were in fact communicating and Jinou was certainly not holding back his thoughts; especially after Onimaru declared that results meant everything.

"You fool. Apologise to sumo this instant", he sneers, "Surely you don't think you've made it his far solely on your own strength? Do you train by yourself? Who made those meals for you? Where did all those encouragements come from? Forgetting about all the people in your life and neglecting them. Some pro you are. If you're really a pro, then put a smile on all their faces with your sumo".

Onimaru slams his right palm against Jinou's cheek as he asks, "Then what should I have done? If I started fighting like a taller wrester, would you be satisfied?", he huffs out.

Jinou's anger escalates and he slams Onimaru back; "I couldn't give a rat's arse about that stuff. The problem is your head", he seethes as Onimaru falls backwards.

Jinou lifts his leg for a stomp as he continues to deliver his final word, "The first step to bring others happiness is to find happiness yourself. Rejoicing at the pleasure of being able to undertake sumo in the present. Look before you", he calls, making Onimaru face him, "you are fighting in the final bout, take pride and your opponent is the one who stands at the top. If you fail to find happiness in this moment, you are no sumo wrestler. NOW COME"
