"So, where is she?" Alex asked as Jack sat back down in her seat beside Christen.

"What about Cody and Kristie?" Sam asked, her brow furrowing.

"They're very good, too." Jack muttered, lacing her fingers with Christen's.

"What?" Alex questioned, though something in her gut told her that she doesn't want the answer.

"They're fine, should be here any minute." The blonde smiled. She had no idea if the two lovebirds would show up soon, but she hoped so.

"We know she's talking about sex, right?" Kelley whispered to Tobin and Sam. The Mewis woman snickered but Tobin grimaced, she never wanted to think about Cody and Kristie doing anything like that.

Unfortunately for Jack, Cody and Kristie didn't show up for another thirty minutes. Thirty minutes filled with questions from Alex, Jack was happy it simply ended.

"Finally." The Idaho blonde grumbled, rising from her chair and storming towards the two. "Stop looking so damn happy, perverts."

"Uh, what?" Cody frowned. She couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with her friend's tone, and scratched her neck as she looked over Jack's shoulder to make eye contact with Alex.

"You're very loud in the shower." Jack sassed, her arms crossed over her chest, and eyebrow raised.

"You look like Hope, right now." Cody smiled, meanwhile Kristie looked appalled that Jack overheard their shower sex.

The Carter woman rolled her eyes but accepted the hug that her best friend offered, when her eyes caught sight of a ring.

"The fuck is that?"

"What's what?" Alex chuckled as she walked forward to wrap her arms around her daughter, placing a kiss on her forehead, the gesture never failed to make Cody smile.

Jack simply pointed at the ring on Cody's finger. The silence from Alex was tense and Kristie suddenly wanted to run away - which is when Sam showed up to save her. The sisters walked away from prying ears.

"You know that's not the finger for an engagement ring, right?" Sam asked, disappointed that her sister didn't pop the question.

Kristie looked behind her, her eyes meeting Cody's making the brunette smile widely. She knew Cody was filling everyone in on what happened the night before.

"I know. I don't think we're there yet." Kristie shrugged. "But I wanted her to know that I'm serious about us. She had a rough night, tried to push me away, she needs to know I'm determined to be the solid ground she needs, and I will."

Sam silently listened, watching as her sister smiled while talking about Cody. She could see the love in Kristie's eyes.

"Kristie?" The sisters were interrupted by a raspy voice.

"Hey Alex." Sam smiled before patting her sister's shoulder and walking back to her seat at the table.

Kristie wasn't sure what to expect but the last thing on the list was a long hug from the Morgan mother.

"Thank you." Alex mumbled in the blonde's ear before pulling away from the hug and clearing her throat. She quickly cast a glance to her daughter, who laughs along with Tobin as they listened to Kelley talking animatedly. "For being there for her when she needed you. I'm glad she has you."
