"-So I gave Jack my phone and I left." I sip my coffee after catching Kristie up on the mess that happened. She didn't interrupt me once, and let me vent.

"Alex really done that?" She nods towards my arm and I instinctively pull my sleeve down to hide the bruise on my arm.

"I wish I could say she didn't. Anyway," I clear my throat, telling her without words that I don't want to talk about that anymore. "How did you find me?"

"I wasn't following you, I swear." She defends, only emphasizing it more when I raise a brow in question. "I wasn't! Jack came by my room, told me you weren't in the mindset to be alone but she didn't know where you would go. We went out looking for you, I just got lucky that I seen you through the window. Makes sense, you seem to gravitate to a piano when you're upset."

"So, Jack is still walking around out there, searching for me?!" Kristie rests a hand on top of mine when I start to panic, the gesture almosts instantly calming me.

"No, I called her when I found you. Wanna go see her?"

"Definitely."

We had to get an Uber back, mostly cause I didn't really notice how far I walked when I left the hotel in a rage. The ride back was quiet, a comfortable silence falling over us, the only sound was the soft music chosen by the driver. Kristie pays as we pull up kerbside to her hotel, and I internally sigh in relief when I see it's not the same as my mom's.

"There is one thing I should tell you.." She trails off as she opens the door for me and we walk to the elevator.

"What is it?"

"I'm rooming with Rachel-"

"Oh. Uh, maybe I should just-"

"It's not like that." She cuts me off, picking up on my change of demeanor.

"Then what is it like?" I ask as she hits the button for her floor and the doors close.

"Well...just follow me."

And I do. We get off the elevator and take the short walk to her door. She opens it, holding it for me to enter first, and the sight is confusing, and surprising. My best friend wrapped up in the arms Kristie's ex.

"Oh, wow." I mumble, glancing to Kristie who shrugs.

"I didn't know how to tell you." She confesses.

"You're okay!" Jack springs from the bed, wrapping me in her arms and swinging me around, clearly relieved. "Thank God."

"You can just call me Kristie." Said girl shrugs and takes my hand, pulling me towards her own bed as Jack goes back to Rachel.
