"Where love is concerned, too much is not even enough."
— PIERRE BEAUMARCHAISIt had been three months since Kristie's promise to Cody and the brunette couldn't be happier. Despite the distance, the couple had grown closer together. Goodnight and good morning phone calls and texts, daily FaceTime calls and social media posts subtly aimed at one another. They weren't fooling anyone, despite their reluctance to openly admit to the public that they're in a committed relationship.
It was their own protected, private little bubble solely for them and they loved it.
"What are you thinking about?" The blonde sighed blissfully as she threaded her fingers through Cody's hair. The action made the brunette cuddle further into her girlfriend's warm body.
"You." Cody yawned, her eyes fluttering closed as she tightened her hold around Kristie's waist.
"You're cute." Kristie kissed Cody's forehead. "What about me?"
"How your ego is so big that you fish for compliments."
The blonde chuckled, "Asshole."
"I'm joking." Cody smiled, planting a kiss on her girlfriends lips before hiding her face in the crook of Kristie's neck. "I'm thinking about how lucky I am to have you. How safe you make me feel."
There was a moment of silence as the brunette felt her girlfriend's heart beat in her chest.
"I'm the lucky one, Cody." Kristie sighed. "After everything I did to you...I'm lucky that you gave me another chance, you know...after all the other chances you gave me. I'm sorry."
"I don't want to talk about the past." Cody breathed out, eager to avoid the somber atmosphere that was descending upon them.
"Sorry." The blonde muttered again. She didn't want to remind her girlfriend of those times, she didn't even want to remind herself. It would always be a sore spot for the two, and Kristie would always be ashamed of everything she did, and everything she put Cody through.
Cody, hearing the heartbroken tone of Kristie's voice, sat up and untangled her limbs from her girlfriend's and straddled her waist. She placed both hands on the side of the blonde's face, her thumbs running over her cheekbones in an effort to comfort the girl beneath her.
"It's okay." Cody smiled softly. "I mean...it sucked, it wasn't easy to get to where we are now, but everything we've been through made us stronger. So if I knew then what I know now, then I'd happily go through all the pain knowing that I'd end up here with you."
Kristie places her hands on Cody's wrists and returns her girlfriend's soft smile as she sits up. She moves her hands to the brunette's waist to steady her.
"You're incredible." Kristie breathes out. "After everything you've been through, you still have the most beautiful heart I've ever encountered."
The couple share a passionate kiss before the blonde pulls away, her hands running up and down Cody's spine.
"Are you sure you're ready for this?" Kristie asks, her face burrowing into the brunette's neck, happily inhaling her subtle perfume.
"I am. I'm ready." Cody giggled when her girlfriend's nose tickled her neck. "So, get your cute little ass outta bed and lets go!"

"Why are you moping?" Christen chuckled as she sat down next to Jack.
The blonde was staring longingly at her phone, clearly waiting for something to happen, her brow furrowed and her bottom lip jutting out into a slight pout.
