"Oh man... that was close." I got into my bedroom, exhausted from the day. Thanks to Endeavour, at least I could spice up my boring room a bit now. I pulled out my two large anime posters, deciding to stick them up on the wall next to the TV. I got to the Eraser Head poster, and wracked my brain over it a little. Eventually, I went with sticking it on the side of the dresser facing my bed, so that nobody could see it unless they got in my bed. It was about 12am at this point, now.

Satisfied with my new décor, I elected to make a cup of tea. Heading to the kitchen, I was met with two insomniacs also known as my teachers.

"Good evening, L/N". All Might said, groggily sipping on his coffee.

"Good morning, more like." I went to the kettle and made myself a cuppa.

"Glad to hear all went well today!" The retired number 1 smiled at me. Despite being retired, he was in fact still number 1. Guess that wouldn't change until they update the new rankings this year.

"Yeah, actually, I-" I was interrupted by the email notification on my phone. I quickly opened it to see a glowing letter of recommendation from Best Jeanist.

"It's over. Finally." I slumped onto the chair, stirring my tea.

"Was that Best Jeanist?" Aizawa asked, also with a cup of coffee.

"Yeah. I'm done, it's over and done with. Just gotta print Endeavour's and his out and we're good." I rested my chin on my hand, propping it up with my elbow. I felt something crinkling in my pocket.

"Oh jeez, I forgot I left that there." I unfolded All Might's letter, pulling it out of my back pocket.

'Dear Yokumiru Mera, Provisional License Exam Commission,

L/N Y/N is by far one of the most brilliant, intelligent, and strongest students I have ever met. By not allowing her to take the exam, you are depriving this world of a very promising and amazing hero. She has worked 20 times as hard as her younger counterparts in order to catch up with them, and that work has paid off. Despite- no, because she is quirkless, she came 2nd in our widely famous sports festival. It is in my opinion that her lack of quirk does not make her incapable of taking the exam, but even more capable than most of the students that will be taking it. Her hardships and differences from others are the very things that make her so strong, and to assume that she must be weak and fragile because of those differences is quite frankly an insult. The idea that a quirkless person shouldn't take the exam purely for that reason is completely outdated and prejudiced. To conclude, she is extremely capable of taking your exam.

Don't be a negative force against the much-needed change that is coming in this society. Respectfully, get with the times.

Yours sincerely,

Yagi Toshinori, AKA All Might.'

I stared at the page blankly, completely overwhelmed. It was so... passionate. As if this were an issue that hit very close to home. All this support was so amazing; to think a few months ago I had no one and nothing. In my 20 years, I had never heard someone speak of being quirkless so... positively. That it worked with me, not against me.

Things were finally changing for the better. I was feeling hopeful.

But at the same time, a small part of me didn't feel I deserved this. I didn't deserve all this support. I didn't deserve these people's kindness. What had I done to earn that...?

If my own parents couldn't love me, then no one else could.

Right?

"Why do you want to be a hero anyway? There's no point. You're wasting your damn time."
