Who

I sat there, staring at the floor. The sound of dripping blood driving me crazy. It had been hours since they stopped. Hours since I was left alone in the basement. My eyes had been blinded by the red substance. Well....eye. They did a lot to me. So much that I couldn't move, even after the drug wore off. My limbs were too weak.
The door opened and closed. A gasp echoed across the room, followed by the click of a camera. The sound replaced the never ending echo of dripping blood.
"Hey —. — taking photos – —— injuries. They —— —— too far — time."
Photos...?
Their voice sounded as though I was underwater. My mind unable to comprehend what they was saying.
"—— —— left for ——. You — leave"
Leave...?
"You —— —— help. I'll – get —— phone. — — call someone – —— get you"
Call...?
I don't understand. What are you saying? Who are you?
Their footsteps echoed through the room as they left.
Where are you going? Are you going to get help? Or someone to hurt me?
I waited in silence for a few minutes. The sound of blood and my pain keeping me company as I waited. Hurried footsteps filled my ears. They were back. They were alone. Something cold was placed in my hands. Who were you? What did you give me?
"—— your phone. Call ———.
My phone?
I tried to pull the phone towards me. Although my arm moved, it went limp when nothing was supporting it. The phone slid out of my hand onto the blood stained floor.
Something warm was placed on my limp hand. Someone's hand. Who's hand?
"Kaz? Can — hear me?"
Hear you? Who are you?
"Who..."
My body strained to say that one word. My voice quiet and broken.
"– me! — sis– Cho!"
Cho? My sister? Why are you helping me? You used to love joining in on my punishment. What changed? No. You can't be Cho! She wouldn't help me. She never has. She's the reason this happened.
"Kaz! — need — get out of here! — — call someone!"
Your right. I need to get out of here.
Forcing myself to blink, the dried blood on my eyelids was crushed. My eyes began to water as the blood was blinked away, restoring some vision to my right eye. Everything was blurry, with my vision stained red, I could barely see the person infront of me. It was definitely Cho. They were too short to be mother, and no one outside the family knew about the basement. Why was she helping me?
It didn't matter, I needed to leave. Using the little strength I had left, I tried to stand. My legs gave way almost immediately as I fell into Cho's arms.
"Kaz! Sit down! — shouldn't - standing!"
My ears hearing more and more of my sister's words, the feeling of being underwater seeping away.
Using her for support, I managed to get myself standing. My legs were wobbly from the blood loss but, with some help, they did their job. Letting go of my sister, I stumbled past her, my body complaining about every moment as I moved towards the door. I felt someone try to grab my arm as I fell against something cold.
"Don't touch me"
My voice box straining as I spoke. I heard them move away as I felt the object against my side. It was the door. I had made it across the room. The worst part was over.
I continued past the door and up the stairs. My annoyingly slow pace irritating me. I needed to get out of here before they came back. The colours of the house filled my blurred vision as I cleared the stairs, my legs threatening to fail. I could go to the front door, or out the back. There's a large forest at the back, no one would ever find me.
With my mind made up, I tried walking to the back door. Although it was a short walk normally, it took a long time. I fell twice, Cho running to help each time. Eventually, I felt the wood of the old door on my damaged hand. I was almost free. I tried pushing the door open, but my arms were too weak. I needed help.
"Door"
Turning my head slightly, a figure filled my vision as they opened the door. The cool wind of the night brushing against my wounds making them sting. It hurt, but it gave me the strength to carry on. The pain part of my first step towards freedom.
A car door slammed, my mothers cheery voice echoing through the night.
"Go. I'll distract them. Good luck"
My sister turned around, walking back inside as I tried to run. My footsteps echoing across the garden as I reached the forest. Adrenaline coursed through my veins as I ran with sudden strength. My legs moving faster and faster on the uneven earth. Not even stopping when I stumbled or fell. An owl swooped through the trees, it's feathers brushing my head before flying infront of me, guiding me through the trees. The moon shone bright in the sky, illuminating my path through the forest as I disappeared into the night.
