part 83

josh's pov still~

i wake up to my alarm at 7 AM. for a few moments, i just lie there admiring my beautiful girlfriend, and being thankful she's still here. before addison ever booked for our families to come here to christmas, carson charli dixie and i thought about going to canada. we would've probably had the same flight as bryce and addison. maybe we're lucky. maybe god just wanted to do something good. and thank god he did. of course i'm terribly upset about bruce and addison, but i'm just glad i'm still here. along with dixie charli and carson. i lie there for a while before getting up. i shower and then try to wake carson. well i was going to- but she doesn't sleep much anymore. i just scoop her up in my arms and carry her outside where the rain had luckily stopped. i recline her seat all the way and lay her in it.

jaden: see ya in a few days

he daps me up.

josh: stay safe on the plane

this time we hug. tightly. i get in the drivers seat and pull away. last night i planned out that i'm gonna drive for about 16 hours then we're gonna stop and sleep in a nearby hotel overnight. doing it this way means it should only be a little over 2 days to get there. i drive for about an hour til carson wakes up.

carson's pov~

i wake up and we're already in the car driving. jodh rubs his hand on my leg.

josh: we're almost to a rest stop if you need to use the bathroom
you: i'm ok for now

i sit up and sit my seat up too. i plug my phone in, taking control over the aux.

josh: excuse you *laughs
you: i don't wanna listen to your shit *laughs

i play my music. josh is smiling. probably at the fact i just laughed for the first time in a while. he keeps his hand intertwined with mine which was nice.

josh: i have clothes blankets pillows food and drinks in the back if you need anything.
you: ok

i turn and look in the back seat. i see a pair of josh's sweatpants and grab those. i unbuckle my seatbelt, taking my shorts off, and sliding his sweatpants on before buckling back up.

josh: damn baby you can't just change in front of me like that *laughs

i thought he was just joking until i watched him push one of his hands into his lap making me laugh. i reach back once again grabbing a box of cheez itz and a water bottle. i set the water bottle in the cup holder and open the cheez itz. after placing a few in my mouth josh opens his mouth and says "ahhh" i laugh as i place a few in his mouth.

josh: can i have a sip of your water?
you: why don't i just get you a bottle?
josh: i just want a little sip
you: fine

i take the cap off and hand him the bottle before he sips out of it. then i take a sip and close the cheez itz. josh places his right hand on my left inner thigh.

you: do you miss them?
josh: mhm
you: me too

he softly rubs my thigh with his thumb. for a long time we sit in silence. a comforting one though.

josh; in canada- i'm not gonna be staying eight you. i'm gonna stay at my house. you have to promise me that you won't try to hurt yourself.

i nod.

josh: i'm serious
you: i won't. i promise
