The morning after, my body was sore. Pleasantly sore.

I had no regrets. I had no more qualms.

I knew I wanted this- him.

A myriad of thoughts filled my head with what to do- what to tell my parents, but I knew it was too soon.

Thanatos and I would have to speak about it all; we'd have to devise a plan on how and when I was to ascend and our course of action afterwards.

I was committed to making this work- I was committed to him and us.

I woke with him beside me; his eyes closed and his face angled up, towards the dim, morning sunlight. There were rain clouds in the sky and the air was filled with the scent of petrichor. I sighed softly and moved closer to him; my body heat mixing with his.

The breeze from the window was icy and the sun was fading. It would rain soon; the thunder in the background a clear sign of a coming storm.

It was a Saturday and I had no classes lined up. Without worry, I knew I could spend the rest of the morning sleeping next to the one person I never wanted to part from again.

My hand travelled up his hard stomach and chest to land on his jaw. It was like marble.

Thanatos stirred.

His eyelids twitched and a deep, content breath left his lungs. His carmine eyes fluttered open very slowly.

The smile etched onto my lips was so warm and so blissful. I was so happy. There was no better word to describe it, but happy.

Thanatos turned his head a bit to spark some sort of consciousness to where he was. No doubt the first memory that ran into his mind was that of last night's passion.

His smile was blinding.

Thanatos sighed and his hand found my cheekbone; "I dreamt of you..."

A small giggle escaped. "Oh?""

"It was so nice." He smiled sweetly and pressed his forehead against mine. His eyes were still weak with sleep. "Thank you."

I frowned and asked; "What for?"

"For the dreams... They're the best I've ever had."

I chuckled and scooted closer, so our bodies were pressed tightly together. I closed my eyes and followed the rhythm of his steady breathing. "You're very welcome..."

"How are you feeling?" Thanatos asked with a more cautious tone. "Sore? Did you sleep?"

"I'm perfect; I promise." I stroked a hand down the side of his face.

His eyes met mine and he whispered; "I know you are..."

I wanted to roll my eyes at his charming comments this early in the morning, but not even my sarcastic nature could break through the lovely tenderness I was feeling. He was perfect- not me.
