"Bruce..." Dick took a deep breath, glancing over at Wally, who gave him a supportive smile, before turning back to his father, "I'm bisexual and... I'm dating Wally."

Bruce stood there, shocked for a moment. He stared at his son-- his nearly grown son's face, remembering when he'd first brought Dick home to the Manor.

"Bwuse..." a little boy's sniffling voice pulled Bruce from the dark grasps of sleep. He blinked in the darkness, looking down to see his ward of three weeks standing by his bed, a crying mess. The poor boy cradled his beloved stuffed elephant close to his chest in, what seemed like, some sort of attempt at finding comfort.

"Dickie?" Bruce questioned, leaning down and scooping his kid up, placing the boy on the bed next to him. "What is it? Another nightmare?"

"Yeah," the boy whimpered, burying his head in Bruce's shirt. The older man sighed quietly to himself, beginning to run his fingers through Dick's raven curls. He whispered reassurances and promised the blue-eyed boy that everything would be okay. They stayed there like that for what must've been an hour before Dick finally fell asleep in Bruce's arms. The man didn't have the heart to take the boy back to his own room so he tucked him in under the blankets right there. He kissed Dick's forehead and brushed a black curl out of the boy's face before turning over and going back to sleep himself.

"Please say something," the seventeen-year-old pleaded, brow furrowed with pure fear and blind hope. His breathing was ragged and faster than normal. Bruce knew this to be a sign of incredible nerves. "Bruce, please," Dick practically begged when the man still did not say anything.

Bruce finally snapped out of it, blinking away his shock. Don't get me wrong, Bruce didn't mind Dick being bi. No, that wasn't the problem. What the problem really was was that, for the first time in possibly ever, Bruce was seeing that his boy was no longer a boy anymore. He was grown up. He was dating. He was falling in love. He didn't need Bruce anymore...

"Bruce!" an eleven-year-old Dick Grayson's voice carried down the hall as he darted into his father's office, the man watching him with a laugh and a slight shake of his head.

"What is it, Dickie?" Bruce asked, smiling amusedly at the flushed look on Dick's face that told the older man all he needed to know.

"I'm playing hide-n-seek tag with Wally!" the boy exclaimed, eyes wide with excitement. "Please, please, please hide me!"

Bruce laughed before nodded and waving Dick over, "C'mon. I think you can fit under my desk."

Dick giggled mischievously as he skipped over and slid under Bruce's desk. He shot the man a boyish grin as Wally ran in, not even having broken a sweat. The ginger looked around suspiciously, watching as Bruce nonchalantly looked up as if his kid was dying of a giggle attack by his feet.

"Can I help you, Wallace?" Bruce asked monotonously.

"Have you seen Dick?" Wally asked anxiously. "I've been trying to catch him for an hour!"

"No," Bruce replied dryly. "And as much as I would like to help you lose my son, I'm in the middle of some important paperwork."

Wally nodded, taking the hint and racing off. As soon as he was gone, Dick's silent giggles exploded into a full-on laughing fit. He jumped up, climbing onto Bruce's lap. The older man couldn't help but laugh along with his kid. Dick's laughing was just contagious.

"He's never gonna catch you, is he?" Bruce asked with a chuckle.

"Nope!" Dick giggled before racing off.

"Bruce," Wally stepped forward almost protectively. His facial expression was dead serious as he stared Bruce down. "If this is your way of saying you don't support us, just spit it out. We've talked about it and we're going to continue on with or without your consent. But Dick would really appreciate having it so, for him, please just fucking say something."

Bruce was completely silent for a moment before turning and staring at Dick's terrified face. "You're... happy?"

Dick nodded, wrapping his arm around Wally's waist, "Yeah, Bruce, I really am. I love Wally and he loves me."

"Then..." Bruce started with a small smile, "I'm happy for you two. Just, please, keep the... noise... to a minimum when Damian is around. Not because I don't want him around anything gay but because he's already awkward enough without having to give him the sex talk. If you two are the reason I have to talk to him about that, I'm changing the Netflix password and paying Tim to keep it secret."

Dick gasped, "But how will I watch Dawson's Creek?"

Bruce shrugged, beginning to walk away, "Sounds like a personal problem."

"Hey, Tati?" Dick asked softly, prompting Bruce to look down at the boy who was laying against his arm, eyes glued to the TV in front of him.

"What is it, Dickie?"

"What does love feel like?" the twelve-year-old asked, carefully watching the couple on the screen as they kissed and repeated 'I love you''s to each other.

Bruce smiled to himself, "You'll know it when you feel it, buddy. And I can't wait to see the day you bring home the person you'll spend the rest of your life with."

Dick nodded, staring up at his father with the more adoring look on the face of the planet. "I love you, Bruce."

Bruce chuckled, ruffling the boy's curls, "I love you too, kiddo."
