𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆: The team finds out Batman neglects Robin— in more ways than one.

"Robin B01."

The YJ team, lazily sat around the living room, watched as their youngest teammate slunk into the furnished area, collapsing back onto the couch with a rough sigh.

"Everything okay, Robin?" Megan asked pleasantly.

Robin just groaned in response, covering his eyes with his arms.

Wally, knowing very well what was going on, exhaled sharply, a sense of anger about him. "How many nights?"
The team glanced at the speedster in confusion, but said speedster just ignored them and kept his eyes trained on his best friend. "Answer me, Rob."

Robin groaned again, moving his arm just enough to look at Wally with a tired and annoyed expression. "I'm not sure I know what you're talking about, KF."

Wally narrowed his eyes, "Yes, you do. Now answer the question."

Robin sighed loudly, recovering his face with his arms and simply stating, "I dunno... five or six."

Wally exhaled sharply, obviously quite angry about something— though, the team had absolutely no idea what.
"Are you serious? He's gonna kill you, dude!" Wally stood from his seat and stalked across the room to his best friend. "Look at me, Robin!"

The little bird ignored his friend, curling in himself and turning away from his teammates.

Wally didn't like that— not one bit.

"Richa-"

"Jesus Christ, Wally!" Robin spun around, the white slits in his domino mask wide in shock. "What?! What do you want?!"

"I want Batman to treat you the way you should be treated!" Wally yelled, eyebrows furrowed in concern and anger.

"Oh, yeah?!" Robin shot back, narrowing his eyes at his best friend. "And how's that?!"

"Like a thirteen-year-old boy! Like you're not a fucking weapon!"

Both boys went dead quiet, a tense silence filling the air. Robin gave Wally a sad glare before standing up and disappearing down the hall, leaving his team to wonder what the hell had just happened.

"Wally..." Artemis started slowly, "what was that...?"

Wally sighed loudly, collasping back on the couch. He rubbed his eyes anxiously, pausing a moment before answering the blonde's question. "Haven't you guys noticed how tired Rob looks when he finally shows up? Haven't you seen him inhale everything in the fridge like he hasn't eaten in days? Can't you see something's wrong?"

Kaldur furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, "Well... those are normal activities for teenage boys. It is a bit dramatic, I don't think it's out of the ordinary."

Wally scoffed, a dry smile plastered on his usually boyish features, "Yeah, well, think again. It's 'cause Batman treats him like a fucking tool. The only time Bats pays any attention to Rob or his well-being is when he needs help on a mission."

Megan's pretty features contorted into a frown, "Well, what about Robin's parents? Surely they feed him and take care of him, don't they?"

Wally sighed, sinking back into the couch cushions, "Rob would probably kill me for telling you guys this, but, honestly, I don't think it really matters anymore." KF took a deep breath before going on, "Robin's parents are dead-- they have been for five years now. When they passed, Batman took Robin in and gave him a home. So... Rob depends on Bats to take care of him-- feed him, get him to school, make sure he isn't out all night on patrol. And, he was pretty good at it. At least, until last year when Agent A died. After that, Batman threw himself into work, forgetting anything that wasn't Batman related. He'll keep Rob out all night for days at a time, he'll forget to make meals, he'll neglect to take Robin to school-- he's generally just forgotten about Rob's existence."

The team all had horror-struck looks on their faces, staring at Wally like he was a ghost. There were several muttered oh, my God's and poor Robin's. A few were angry that they hadn't heard about this earlier (mainly Connor). And some members even had tears streaming down their cheeks.

"I've tried to take care of him," Wally continued with a sigh, rubbing his forehead as if a headache was forming. "I've had him stay over at my house almost every weekend, I've brought him food, I've helped him get work from school. But it's still not enough. I mean, you guys heard him-- he hasn't gotten any sleep for nearly an entire week! And I'm sure that goes for eating anything as well. We... we've gotta get him out of there. Batman's gonna end up getting him killed."

However, before anyone could say a single word, a female's loud, metallic voice rang out:

"Batman 02."

The team froze, more than one member resisting the urge to pound their friend's mentor into the ground right then and there. But, alas, they didn't. They just stood still as statues as the elder vigilante swept into the room, looking around at the team's various scowls.

"Where's Robin?" the superhero asked, ignoring the teenagers' obvious anger.

Kaldur was the first to step forward, "May we ask what you request his presence for?"

Batman shot a deadly glare in Aqualad's direction, "No, you may not. Where is he?"

Wally was next to stand up to the scary man, "Rob needs a break, Batman. You've had him out on patrols every night this week."

The older vigilante stood threateningly over the group of kids, "I'll decide when my sidekick needs a break, Wallace. Now, I'm only going to ask one more time. Where... is... Robin?"

The team exchanged a glance, knowing they stood no chance against Batman. He could take them down in a matter of seconds if he wanted to.

"He's in his room..." Megan sighed, a frown seemingly permanent on her beautiful features.

Batman gave a swift nod before briskly walking off in the direction of his younger companions room. It wasn't but moments later that he reappeared, dragging Robin across the floor by his cape, the kid yelping in pain every second or so.

"Hey!" Wally yelled, immediately going to his best friend's defense. "Let him go! You're hurting him!"

Batman just shoved the speedster back with perhaps more force than what was neccesary. "It's his own fault. Next time you see your teammate, remind him to keep his coms on."
And with those words, Batman and Robin were gone, leaving the Young Justice team to reel in their departure.
