Thursday

The BatBros™️ watched cautiously as their eldest brother stormed into the BatCave, flipped Bruce off, waved a tired hello to them, and stormed back out again.

"Whoa," Jason stifled a laugh.

"What was that all about?" Tim asked, glancing back at Bruce, who stood there with the most genuinely shocked expression Batman can wear.

"I... called him this morning and asked if he could help out with a case?" Bruce cocked an eyebrow to himself. "He was mad, yes, but that was a bit excessive. He lives two hours away...

"So Dickhead's having his middle-aged crisis," Jason grinned. "Good to know."

Damian glared at his eldest present brother, "Fuck you, Todd." He began to storm off in the direction Dick has left in.

"Where're you going?" Tim called after him.

"I'm going to talk to Grayson," Damian hardly had time to answer before he was out of the room.

Tim and Jason exchanged a brief glance before taking off after their youngest brother, ignoring the demands from Bruce to leave it alone.

"Shit, that kid runs fast," Jason panted as he and his younger brother slowed to a stop when they saw Dick laying on the ground with Damian on top of him.

"Get him off of me," Dick growled, eyes shooting daggers at his brothers.

"Not until you tell us what's got your panties in a twist," Jason retorted.

"Nothing," Dick glared at his younger brother.

"Oh, really?" Jason amusedly cocked an eyebrow. "Oh, well, if we're telling lies then I'm straight and definitely haven't killed people."

Dick just shot Jason another death-glare.

"C'mon, Dickie," Jason taunted in a sing-song voice. "We can't help ya until you tell us what's wrong."

Dick seemed to be debating whether or not to spit in Jason's face, but, finally, decided on blowing up at him instead.

"You wanna know what's wrong, Jason?! Well, that is a very long fucking list! I could tell you what isn't wrong in shorter time!" the older boy yelled. "Wally wants to take a break, BPD lost funding so now I'm going out there with no protection, crime is rising in Blüdhaven so I'm out on patrol all goddamn night! My apartment building is being bought and torn down so I have to find somewhere affordable to live and I don't even have a boyfriend to split the rent with anymore! I'm gonna have to go back to stripping! Which means less time as Nightwing! Which means I'm in a very bad mood!"

The three bothers sat there, shell-shocked.

"Well," Jason finally started, "that sucks."

Dick just grunted and laid his head on the concrete, Damian still perched upon his back like a cat. And, it was in that moment that the brothers decided. They would annoy their big brother until he felt better.
