"Ivy!" Harley screeched as she helped her younger companion through the front door of her's and her lover's apartment. "Come meet our kid!"

Ivy immediately popped up in front of them, "Our what now?"

Harley grinned, gesturing over at the fifteen-year-old next to her, who gave a timid wave to the green anti-hero, "Dickie here is gonna be livin' with us now."

Ivy raised her eyebrows, giving a once over of Dick's rough-looking form. She wasn't as much of a protective person as Harley was, but she still felt some sort of maternal instincts for the kid. She had, after all, been fighting him since he was practically a baby.

Suddenly, however, the woman's head snapped up, eyes-wide, and met Harley's gaze, "Wait, did you just say Dickie? As in, that's his secret ID that you now know and Batman will kill us for, Dickie?"
Even more suddenly, her eyes snapped down to study the boy's face, "No... you're- you're- you're-"

"Richard Grayson," the teen filled in, looking nervously between his savior and her girlfriend. "Look, I don't wanna cause any problems between you guys-"

"Nonsense!" Harley declared, draping an arm around the boy's shoulder and pulling him close in a protective manner. She shot a pointed look in Ivy's direction, "We are more than happy to have ya' here, ain't we, Ivy?"

Ivy sighed softly, but nodded nonetheless, "I suppose it would be kinda fun to have a kid around here. Maybe you could keep Harley entertained when I'm not home."

Dick gave a small smile, "Thank you."

"Don't even worry about it!" Harley exclaimed, accent thick as always. She shoved him in Ivy's direction, "Ivy'll getcha all cleaned up while I go out and get us somethin' good to eat, eh?"

Before either Dick or Ivy had a chance to answer, Harley was out the door, her maniacal laughter echoing after her.

Ivy chuckled to herself and turned to Dick, "You'll get used to that." She began leading him back to the washroom, "Let's get those wounds fixed up, huh?"

Dick smiled timidly, "Thank you for helping me. I- I know you didn't have to and you're not getting anything out of it."

Ivy grinned down at the boy, giving his shoulder a slight squeeze, "Harls and I aren't in the business of leaving kids who need our help out in the cold. Especially not you, Robin." She paused, "Say, how's that friend of yours been since we last fought?"

Dick's smile brightened, "Oh, Wally? He's great. Even got into his dream college last week." He beamed up at the woman, "How's all your plants doing? Hopefully that freeze last week didn't hurt them too bad."

Ivy chuckled and ran her fingers through the kid's raven curls, "They're doing alright. Harley keeps sitting on them, though. I swear, that woman will be the death of me."

Dick laughed, "More like the death of your plants."

Ivy grinned as she sat the boy down on top of the bathroom counter and instructed him to pull down the top half of his suit so she could get to work on the gashes along his torso. He looked hesitant, but eventually did so. Once he did, however, Ivy's grin faded. She winced at the scars and winced even harder at the J's and HaHaHa's that had obviously been put there by her girlfriend's ex-lover.

"Don't tell Harley about this, okay?" Dick asked with big, puppy eyes. "I know she still feels guilty about things that happened with Joker and I don't wanna make it worse."

Ivy smiled lovingly at the boy before going to work on stitching him up, "How'd a literal angel like you end up with the dark flying rodent?"

Dick chuckled, "You know my tragic backstory. Everyone in Gotham does."

Ivy paused, eyes widening, "Wait... if you're Dick Grayson, that makes Batman..."

"Bruce Wayne," Dick finished. Ivy gaped at the teen, who just chuckled. Suddenly, however, he turned a bit more serious, "Please don't tell anyone, though. He'd probably drag me back home just to murder me if he found out our secret IDs got out."

Ivy nodded understandingly, "Your secret's safe with me." She went back to work tending to the boy's wounds before carefully meeting his gaze, "So... did he kick you out or did you run away?"

A dark look crossed Dick's sapphire eyes, "He kicked me out."

Ivy frowned, "Well, he's an idiot then, isn't he? Your the best kid in Gotham and if he can't see that, it's his loss."

Dick smiled sadly, "Thanks, Ivy."

Ivy gave the boy an endearing look, "Call me Pamela. I do, after all, know your ID now. It's only fair you get to call me by mine."

Dick's smiled brightened, "Thanks... Pamela."

Pamela ruffled the blue-eyed boy's hair, "No problem, kiddo." She finished up with the last cut. "Now..." she started as the teen hopped down from the counter, "you go get changed into your pajamas while I get your bedroom fixed up, yeah?"

Dick shot the woman a grateful smile and limped off to wherever Harley had dropped his duffel bag. Pamela smiled after him before heading to what had previously been the guest room and putting some fresh sheets and such on the bed. She made sure everything was absolutely perfect before going back out into the living room area, only to find Dick sitting on the couch, tears falling from his eyes down to a photograph in his hands. Pamela looked over his shoulder to see a rather old looking picture of Robin and Batman. Dick couldn't have been older than ten in it. They both looked happy, Robin held tightly in Batman's arms.

"You miss him, huh?" Pamela asked softly as she took a seat next to the boy on the couch.

Dick hurried to wipe his tears away, almost as if he were ashamed of them.

"It's okay if you do," the woman assured gently. "He's been your dad since before you were even in the double-digits. I can't imagine how hard it must be to lose him so suddenly."

Dick sniffled, a new set of tears welling in his eyes. "I just wish I could take back everything that happened tonight. I- I know that sounds terrible, and, believe me, I'm more than overjoyed to be staying with you guys. But..."

"But he's your dad," Pamela finished, pulling the boy in closer to her and running her fingers through his raven curls. "It's okay, Dick. I know Harley and I aren't Bruce. God willing, we won't ever be that flying rodent."

Dick laughed softly.

"But," Pamela went on with a smile, "we'll be more than happy to take care of you and be your friend for as long as you let us. And if Bruce decides to come causing problems, we'll beat him up for you."

Dick giggled through a sniffle, looking up appreciatively at the older woman, "Thank you. Seriously, I owe you guys a debt I'll probably never be able to pay back."

Pamela looked down into the teen's sparkling blue eyes, "You don't owe us anything, kiddo. But... I wouldn't be opposed to you recycling if you're really feeling the need to repay me in some way. The Earth is dying, y'know."

Dick nodded with a laugh, "Consider it done."
