"Mr. Kent?" a secretary that worked for the Planet knocked on Clark's door with a strange expression, immediately grabbing the Kryptonian's attention.

"Yes, Mark?"

"There's a kid here for you... says he has to talk to you," the young man told the reporter slowly, as if he wasn't sure of what he was saying.

"Okay..." Clark replied with a furrowed brow, "Send him in." Mark nodded and started off, leaving Clark to wonder who it could be. He doubted it was Conner. He didn't like Conner. Why would Conner come see someone that didn't like him? No, it had to be someone else. But who? One of the Bat-Kids, perhaps? There were about a thousand of them so something was always wrong with at least one.

Yeah, that had to be it. It was one of Bruce's kids. Jason probably killed someone again. Or maybe Tim needed help with a book report.

"Clark?" a small voice grabbed Clark's attention. He turned around to see the youngest of the Bat Clan, Dick. Which was odd, because Dick hardly ever came to Clark by himself— he hardly went anywhere by himself. His siblings were so protective, he was lucky to shower by himself. Which posed the question: how and why did Dick travel all the way to Metropolis to talk to Clark?

"Dickie," Clark waved the boy into the office, gesturing for him to sit in one of the chairs as he stood up and went around the desk, doing the same. He looked into the thirteen-year-old's nervous-looking blue eyes. "What's going on, kiddo? What're you doing here?"

Dick cleared his throat, rubbing his palms against his pants before taking a deep breath and speaking slowly, "I've been... having some problems."

"Okay..." Clark acknowledged slowly, taking a moment to let Dick's words sink in. He honestly had no idea where this was going. "What sort of problems?"

Dick's breath shuttered as he looked up into Clark's worried eyes and replied softly, voice cracking a bit, "I think there's something... wrong with me." His gaze returned to his knees as a tear streamed down his face. Upon seeing this, Clark's eyes widened ever so slightly. He quickly shook the surprise from his face and leaned over, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder.

"What do you think is wrong with you, Dickie?"

The boy was silent for a moment, making Clark worry he wouldn't answer. But, alas, he finally did and it was far from what Clark was expecting, "I don't want to... do things with people. Like- intimate things..."

"Oh-" Clark was shocked for a moment, but the shock soon faded away into something like endearing sympathy as he stared at the ashamed boy in front of him. "Dickie, there's nothing wrong with you. There's a lot of people that're like that. There's even a name for it."

Dick's head flew up, eyes wide with disbelief, "Really?!"

Clark chuckled, standing up and gesturing for Dick to follow him. They walked around the desk to Clark's computer, where the Kryptonian typed out the word 'asexual.' When the result came up, he stepped aside and let Dick read over it. The worry instantly faded from the poor teen's face and he turned back to Clark, the distress gone from his eyes.

"So I'm not broken?" he asked hopefully.

Clark knelt down in front of the kid, brushing some of those untamable, ebony curls back, "No, kiddo. You're not broken. You're just figuring out your sexuality and that's okay. And, if one day, you decide asexual doesn't fit you anymore, that's okay too. It's hard to figure yourself out so don't feel pressure to label yourself or fit into a box. Everyone's different, okay? And if you need someone to talk to about it, I'm right here."

Tears welled in the boy's eyes as he flung himself forward and latched onto Clark. The man chuckled and returned the hug, holding onto Dick for a moment before pushing him back and looking into those blue eyes, "And remember, Dickie, no matter what anyone tells you, you're valid. Okay? Don't let anyone tell you anything different."

Dick nodded and smiled widely, "Thank you, Clark."

Clark laughed softly and stood up, ruffling the teen's curls, "Anytime, kiddo. Now, how 'bout I fly you back to Gotham before your siblings lay eggs, huh?"

Dick giggled, "Yeah, okay." He watched eagerly as Clark shut his blinds and walked out to the balcony, the boy following close behind. Clark opened his shirt to reveal the Superman symbol underneath. Dick grinned and allowed the Kryptonian to pick him up before the two of them took off into the sky, Dick's mind finally at peace.

thank you guys for 60k!!
