Chapter 10: The close call

"Leah..." Leo was about to say when she cut him off.

"I know, I'm not ready."

"It has nothing to do with any of you being ready. It's.. it's more like there was more we could've done but we noticed too late." Karai said, holding onto Solaris's hand.

"Karai, don't. They-!" Leo was about to start but Karai cut him off.

"No. You stop Leo! They are gonna find out at some point or another and I for one would like to stop hiding it!" Karai snapped, her eyes started to become more snake-like.

"Karai, please... At least not now, not while we're all here together" Leo stood up, he looked so much like Splinter in that moment. She sighed and sat back down.

"Fine. You don't tell them by the end of this week, imma do it for you. This goes for all of you." She said, pointing at her siblings.

Aubrey looked at her dad and saw him shaking "Papa! Did you take your anxiety medication?"

"Anxiety medication?" Mikey asked in confusion.

"You didn't know papa has anxiety?" Aubrey handed Donnie some water. He shook his head no as Donnie drank more water.

"Donnie, when did.. I'll ask later, Leo, this has been 'fun' but.. why did you ask us to come back for a barbecue?" Karai questioned him.

"Because.. I want all of you to move back into the lair."
