Chapter 50: The past, is never forgotten

A few months went by since that day, Leah hasn't seen Andrew and she's come to terms with that, Haley has finally settled into the apartment, and the wedding was coming up soon, so Leo and Karai decided to take a trip down memory lane.

"That's for coming over Karai"

"No problem, Leo! So what are we looking for?"

"Nothing much, we never really got around to looking through any of his stuff since he died so.."

"So, this is a case of we're just being nosy just because?"

"Maybe"

"Fine with me"

Leo chuckled and began looking through Splinter's old things, Memories filled his head. Karai helped him and she found their old photo albums and looked through them.

"Oh Leo~ Is this you?" She snickered and pointed to an old embarrassing photo of him.

"Oh god! Put that away!"

"Make me!"

Leo snatched the photo, folded it up and put it in his coat.

"Aww, you never let me have any fun!"

"You like to humiliate me!"

"I know!"

"Never mind" he shook his head and they kept looking through boxes.

"You know, Me and Novo loved to image growing old together and passing on the clan to Leah, I can only imagine how responsible she would be"

"Oh.. you're lucky you even have a close bond with your daughter"

"Really? I thought you and Light were close?"

"We aren't.. I'm surprised we're even able to talk.. We can't see eye to eye on everything, hell.. I had to make a deal with her saying if you, Raph, Mikey and Donnie hated me, we could go back to Japan and forget about all of you.."

"You two must have something in common!"

"Nothing.. She's such a daddy's girl, she can talk to him with no problems and I can't have one conversation with her without us arguing.."

"I wouldn't call that being a daddy's girl... I call that being just like you"

"Really?"

"Mmm hmm!"

"Aww"

"You hate it, huh?"

"With a passion"

"Well, let's keep looking, maybe you'll find something embarrassing about Raph and show Haley!"

"Aww, you remembered that my day always gets better when I mess with any of you!"

"Of course I do, I can never forget when you showed Novo my baby pictures" he shook his head and continued helping Karai look through Splinter's old things.

They laughed at some of the pictures until they heard the teenagers shout.

"WHAT THE HELL/HECK IS PROM?!"

"Welp, looks like we need to cut this shor.. Karai, you did say when your mom died, Father never found her wedding ring.. right?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Then.. why do I see this?" He said, picking up a small red box and showed it to her.

"I... I don't know, maybe there's a necklace in here or a bracelet! Maybe even a watch"

"Only one way to find out" he opened the box and there was no bracelet, necklace or watch in there. The only thing in there was an engagement ring.
