Chapter 57: Watch the world burn

The next day, everyone was busy getting ready up until it got dark, Leah was in her room getting into her stealth uniform when she heard a knock on the door.

"Who is it?"

"It's father," Leo said, from the other side.

"Come in"

Leo opened the door, "Please don't do this"

"Why not? We'll be fine"

"Leah! I lost your mother to that woman, I'm not gonna send my daughter to go into the woman's lair who killed your mother!"

"It's not like I'm gonna face her head on, it's just a stealth mission to save someone I love!! Something I thought you, out of all people, would get!"

"It's different! I've had scars, you don't know how many times your mother scolded me for thinking I'm invincible! I will tell you it now. I'm not willing to risk anyone's lives, especially my daughters." Leo walked away, leaving Leah upset.

"Of course you'd tell me no. You always say it."

Leah took a deep breath and walked out of her room to the others.

"Everyone knows the plan?"

"Yup"

"Me, Remus, and Ray will sneak in and Sera will distract the guards"

"What about Nerdette?"

"I found some old car keys in papa's lab, I cleaned up the car and it's ready to go!"

"Perfect!"

"Ready?"

"Yup!"

"Let's do this!" The group of teens fist bumped as they walked out of the lair, that is when Aubrey introduced the shell-raiser... well, the latest version.

"Damn!!"

The shell-raiser had a new paint job with the groups symbols on the side, it was laced with silver and there was an added seat in front for Remus.

"Ooh!"

"This was my most favorite project yet!!"

"I'll bet! It's awesome!"

"Come on, team!" Leah walked into the car and got into the driver seat.

Everyone else got in the car and drove off. While the adults were listening to Leo rant.

"She's reckless! Stubborn! Cocky! She thinks she's invincible! Oh god, she's impossible to talk to!" Leo ranted.

"Sounds exactly like you Leo"

"Oh hush! I don't wanna risk her life"

"Well, that's what happens when your child is a carbon copy of you"

"Ugh! How do you deal with Light?!" Leo asked, looking at her.

"She's more stubborn and more likely to murder" she told him, drinking some water.

"That's not helping"

"I'm not trying to help, I'm trying to be realistic! Look, what would Novo do?"

"Actually be the one to talk to her"

"Besides that?"

"Tell me to give her some time and then talk to her, but don't lecture her about what happened to you, because she needs to make mistakes to learn from them"

"Exactly, Leah is her own person! She's not just you and she's definitely not just Novo, she is who she is and no one can change that"

"Fine, fine.. Which reminds me, where is your murder happy daughter anyway?"
