Chapter 35: The truth will set you free

As the five of them became friends, Karai was struggling with herself and the nearing future

Karai was walking around the old Foot Clan lair alone. She was sad about a lot of things. But one in particular kept popping back into her head and played on replay, over and over and over again.

".. who am I kidding, why did we come back in the first place.. oh wait.. they're gonna hate me right after I tell them."

She felt someone tap her shoulder.

"What is it?"

It was a ninja, "Master, the Hamato Clan have arrived."

"Good, show them to the dining room, tell them I'll be there soon"

"Yes master" The ninja walked away.

".. this dinner is gonna go to hell.. we'll be moving back very quickly and they'll never want to see me again.." she looked at herself in a cracked mirror and sighed. "Let's get this over with.."

Leo drained some green tea and waited.

"It's nice she invited us to dinner"

"Yes it was"

"Half her boxes aren't unpacked?" Mikey noticed.

"Maybe they just had a long day Mikey, don't worry about i-"

"Hey dorks, sorry I'm late" Karai started as she walked into the room.

"Hi Rai-Rai!"

"Hello Karai," Leo smiled.

"Who's ready to eat, foods almost done anyway" she explains and starts grabbing some plates.

"Something wrong Snakey?" Raph asked.

"No, definitely not, why?"

"Okay, what the hell is wrong Snakey?"

"Nothing.. why don't we start eating?" She asked, trying to get the food out before the chaos came out.

"That's a damn lie. What is wrong with you?!"

"Raph, enough! Seriously Karai, what's wro-!" Leo attempted to break the pair up but Karai snapped.

"I know the person who made all of your lives hell! I know who did it and it's all my f**king fault alright?!" She snapped.

The guys froze, it became quiet. So quiet that you could hear the rain drop.

".. Rai-Rai? What are you talking about?"

"... I-!"

"Okay sister, you need to do some explaining. Because you can't say shit like that and not explain yourself!"

So she started to explain everything. As she was explaining, Light and Akemi were listening in from the top of the staircase.

"You're gonna move back.. if they hate aunty?"

"Yeah, that's mom's deal, they hate her and I hate my cousins, we're moving back, they don't hate her and I.. actually like them, which isn't happening, we're staying."

"Sounds like you and aunty got into another argument again.. why can't you two get along?"

"It's complicated."

"Doesn't seem that complicated.. why don't you two get along?"

"We have different views in... everything! I want to expand our empire but she wants to keep it in the family which doesn't help if your family hates you"

"They don't hate us if they don't know us! There has to be something you two can agree on!"

"Akemi, you're too optimistic. I'm telling you, there's nothing we can agree on. Now shush, I wanna hear them get mad, I'll be right and we can go back home."
