Chapter 42: Love, is it worth it?

The morning after

Leah stayed in her room the whole day as well as Aubrey, both of them didn't come out for different yet same reasons.

"So.. both of them got their hearts broken and they haven't left their rooms?" Remus asked Ray and Sera.

"Yeah, look Princess, I understand but Nerdette? She didn't even show any signs of crushing on Tony" Ray explained.

"It's so sad! I don't like seeing them sad.."

"Me either but we can't do much, we have to let them heal on their own" Remus explained.

"How are you so wise about heartbreak?"

"Let's just say being the "quiet kid" has its perks"

The turtles didn't know what to do besides wait and call in the only other girls they know. April, Karai and Shini.

"So.. your children experienced heartbreak and you all need help?"

"Pretty much, look they won't talk to us probably because of how I reacted to Leah but please" Leo pleaded.

"Can I go talk to Aubrey?" Shini asked.

"Sure, her room's right there" Donnie said and pointed to her room.

"Why don't I get them some sweets? That always helped me!" April suggested.

"I'll talk to Leah"

"You've experienced heartbreak?" Mikey asked his older sister.

"I didn't really date but I know how it feels to be betrayed" She explained as she knocked on the door.

"Go away..." Leah said, muffled.

"It's just me Leah, can we talk?"

"No, you're just gonna tell me how stupid I was"

"Actually, I'm gonna tell you the opposite"

"... Doors unlocked."

"Thanks" She said, opened the door and walked into her room.

It looked like a mess, tissues everywhere, blankets a mess, a water lily was cut up into tiny pieces.

"Hey Lele" she said and sat on a chair by her desk.

"It's Leah. Not Lele." She sniffles underneath the blanket.

"Look.. I didn't experience heartbreak.. but I do know what being betrayed feels like."

"You don't get it... I ran to him and left my team to suffer Tony's rampage, his father got mutated because of us and I left... for a boy that didn't even like me..."

"Your dad left for me when your uncle Mikey was hurt"

She poked her head out and Karai could see how red and puffy her eyes were.

"He... did?"

"Yeah.. I was evil but I became good, which is a long story in itself, but! When we were teenagers, and before he met your mother, he met me and I told him to.. meet me at a high rise and we were gonna steal something"

"He did that with me, we were going to steal the blades of Oroku Saki, I intertwined my fingers with his so that he would stay with me and he did"

"Did he pin you to the ground and one of your friends came and saw?"

".. maybe.. why?"

"Once again, I did the same thing with your dad! He tried to tell me to stop being evil, I pinned him to the ground and your uncle Raph came! He said, and I quote!" She started and mimicked Raph's voice. "What are you, friends with her?! We're out here risking our necks and you're up here holding hands with the Foot!"
