Chapter 71: The screeches

A week went by as everyone was becoming more comfortable.

"Who's ready for breakfast?"

"Me!!"

"Ooh, who's cooking now?"

Lovey was at the stove, flipping pancakes and fried fritters, she chopped up some potatoes and poured orange juice.

"Good morning"

"Morning Momsie!"

"You wanna help me make breakfast?"

"Yeah!!" Sera smiled and walked over to her.

"Okay"

A couple of hours have passed and Sera was the only one at the farmhouse, she was keeping busy in her own way.

As in she was making a mess of the living room with ice cream, pizza, and accidentally breaking things.

"Once we get back home it'll be a party of a lifetime!!! YE-!"

"WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"

"Dah!!" Sera looked in the direction of where the yelling came from. To her surprise, everyone else was standing in the living room doorway. "Um.. hey guys! It isn't what it looks like"

"It looks like you made a mess of the farmhouse... Again!" Aubrey yelled, gesturing to the living room.

"I did not!" She shouted back then a slice of pizza landed on her head.

Ray, Remus, Aubrey, and Leah growled and started shouting at Sera, "THIS IS THE FIFTH TIME YOU MESSED UP THE HOUSE THIS MONTH!"

"CLEAN UP NOW." Haley growled and shoved a bucket with a bunch of cleaning supplies in it in her hands. "Better be spotless by the time we come back."

"But Aunty-!" Sera tried to explain but Haley growled at her, flames busting out of her hair. "Yes Aunty.."

"Good."

Everyone walked out of the farmhouse, Lovey looked back at the house.

"We'll be right back sweetie"

"Thanks Momsie..."

Haley grabbed Lovey and dragged her out of the house, "You have to be her mother, not her friend"

"I know that"

"Then be assertive! Don't make me the bad guy all the time"

"Oh no, I can't do that!"

"Then you better learn how"

Sera dropped the cleaning supplies then packed all her stuff, she wrote a note in glitter and left it on the coffee table.

"I'm such a problem for them, fine! I was just trying to have fun"

Sera put her backpack on and ran out of the farmhouse into the woods. She walked deeper into the woods until she heard something.

"Huh?" Sera pulled out her nunchucks then she looked up and saw a masked figure with dark black hair, dark skin, with bat wings, a long furry tail, and bat ears jumping down, "OH GOD!!"

The bat mutant tried to attack her but fell face first onto the ground.

"Um... You okay, dude?"

They got back up and once again, started trying to attack her.

"Hey, easy on the stick! You're gonna hurt yourself!" She told him and took the stick away from them. "Who are you?"

"I'll ask the questions her... Sera?" The boy took off his mask to reveal it was Ryland.
