Chapter 74: The chimera returns

A couple of days went on, Remus has started becoming his old sarcastic self again, it filled the team with joy but Leah was still miserable.

"What are you dorks doing this time?"

"We're testing Aubrey-Rose's abilities with Donatello's old invention" Coral said, placing the physic nero transmitter on Aubrey's head with Casey and Nightshade watching her.

"Huh, do you think it still works?"

"It must've, I used gem technology as well as connected it to my gem"

"Okay, okay"

"Uncle Casey, can I hold your hand?" Aubrey whimpered as she reached out for him.

"Sure kiddo, here"

Aubrey grabbed his hand as tight as she could, nearly breaking it in half.

"Okay, actually why don't you grab my elbow"

Aubrey nodded as she grabbed his elbow as Coral turned on the transmitter.

The lights in the barn started flickering then the transmitter temporarily cut the lights and power out of the barn.

"Oh my" Coral's gem started glowing, making the room light up, "Alright, Casey can you light up the candles?"

"Yep, hold on Aubrey"

Casey lit up each candle, allowing the room to be illuminated which allowed Coral to lift up cards.

"Better?"

"Yes, now Aubrey-Rose... I request you use your abilities to see the photographs on the cards"

"Okay, um.. is it a cow?"

"No, here try again" Coral switched the cards to show an airplane.

"Um.. trees?"

"No-!" Nightshade interrupted her.

"Don't, okay, this one should be easy!"

"Um... Then my second guess will be a hawk?"

"A hawk.. Nope"

"Nightshade, you will spoil the test." Coral pulled out a different card, "This one?"

".. worms?"

"No, alright here is the last one..." Coral stared in shock as Casey slipped a photo of Tony into the card pile which annoyed her, "Really?!"

"Yes! She has to guess this one!"

"Ugh! Fine, Aubrey what card is this?"

"Um.. clouds!"

Casey started dying of laughter as Coral just sighed in disappointment.

"No?"

"Not even close!!"

"Casey, you are not exactly helping!"

"I know!"

"Of course you do"

"Maybe if I up the charge-!"

"That's not a good idea!"

Coral pressed a button and Aubrey started screaming in pain.

"See!! Turn it off!"

"I'm trying!!"

"Oh god"

Aubrey's hair floated as her eyes turned completely black, spikes were popping out of her shoulders until Coral turned off the transmitter.

"Woah, Aubrey, are you okay?"

Aubrey was panting as the spikes disappeared and her hair floated back down but everything in the barn was floating.
