Chapter 23: The boy

Aubrey-Rose walked around the library, she was looking for a book to read during lunch when she ran into someone.

"Excuse me, are you new here?"

Aubrey looked up and she was surprised, it was a boy.

"I-I am" Aubrey hid behind her sweater, talking to boys made her stomach turn upside down.

Donnie made a whole speech about how boys were a waste of her time, especially since she cannot let anyone distract her from becoming a scientist.

"What's your name beautiful?"

"I-I don't see how's it's your business" Aubrey grabbed a book from the shelf and walked past the boy, until he came up and tried to corner her.

"It's not everyday I see a beautiful face like yours-!" He started but was interrupted by another voice.

"I suggest you leave the poor girl alone." Another voice spoke up.

Aubrey turned and saw a tall boy, he had pale skin, glowing bright blue eyes, wavy brown hair, he had a scar over his lip, as well as piercings on both of his ears, he had a ruby necklace, he was also dressed more like a prince then a normal teenager.

"Whatever, Princy" The boy walked away as the other boy checked on Aubrey.

"Are you alright, miss?" He was worried about her, it made Aubrey's heart flutter.

"I-I'm fine" Aubrey smiled, that made the boy smile.

"Well, if you ever need me, my name is Tony, Tony Dracula" Tony spoke softly then he walked away, leaving Aubrey in a confused state.

"That was strange, why did he protect me?" Aubrey tilted her head in confusion. She thought about it more until the next bell rang. This time it was the lunch bell.

"Oh!" She grabbed a book and ran towards the cafeteria. Until she tripped over a balled up piece of paper.

"Ow... Huh?" She picked up the balled up piece of paper and opened it. There was nothing on it except for a drawing that was scratched out.

"A drawing?" Aubrey moved the paper around and she was finally able to see it clearly. It was an unfinished drawing of a face. Strangely, it started to look like her face.

Aubrey blushed darkly, "S-Someone was drawing m-me?" The thought of someone paying attention to her made her mind go blank, thankfully she was brought back into reality.

"Aubrey!!" A certain prankster's voice shouted, snapping her out her thoughts.

"S-Serafina?" Aubrey turned around. Sera was standing behind her, holding out her hand.

"C'mon cuz! We have to meet up with Lele and Ray!"

"R-Right" She hid the paper in her bag and followed after her.
