Chapter 40: The invasion begins (Part 2)

In the gems lair, the girls were having issues trying to destroy the portal but also trying to not get shot at.

"Yes! It's almost done!"

"Hurry faster!!" Ray shouted, dodging the foot of a giant lava monster.

Aubrey was using a toaster to take down the force field but it was going a little slower than usual.

Leah was slicing gems, trying to hold them off while Aubrey did her work. Sera and Ray tried to help by using the giant lava monster to their advantage. Unfortunately, that isn't working out well for them.

"THIS STUPID PIECE OF SH** KEEPS PUTTING ITSELF BACK TOGETHER!" Ray shouted, she threw a leg at some gems.

"WE CLEARLY SEE THAT!"

"WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO, LELE?!"

Leah turned to the window and smirked,"I called for backup"

Remus kicked the window open and immediately fell onto the floor.

"Him?! Leah, he can't fight! Why did you call him and not our dads?!"

"I trust him, Remus!" She shouted.

"Oh great," Ray muttered to herself. "As long as we don't have to explain to his mom why we brought home his dead body, go crazy!"

"She has no faith in me, Leah, what do you want me to do?"

"Use the sword I have on my back!"

"Got it!" he said, grabbing the sword off her back

"Now, go protect Aubrey while she works!!" She yelled, trying to fend off gems.

"Alright" he said and started to fight off any gems that were getting closer to Aubrey.

Aubrey kept working and Remus saw a different side of them, from when they were at school. They were more confident in themselves and it nearly got his head chopped off.

"Guys! I think I got it!" Aubrey pressed a button on her phone, then a hula girl popped out the toaster and the force field went down. "Yes!"

Leah smiled, "Finally!" She pulled out the weapon and pointed it at the portal.

"Say goodnight, gems!" She fired it.... But the weapon broke into a million pieces.

"Oh come on!!"

"Princess, what did you do?!" Ray yelled.

"I don't know!!"

"Anyone got any more ideas?!"

Leah turned around and saw Ray, using a piece of metal to put a shield. Covering her, Sera, Aubrey, and Remus. Aubrey and Sera were terrified and hugging Remus for comfort. Then Leah saw something and got an idea.

"Aubrey, what would happen if I destroyed that power cell?" She asked, pointing to a power cell.

"The whole building will explode! With all of us still in it!!" Aubrey whimpered. This made Leah smirk and pull out her tanto blade and smirk.

"Go"

"What?" The four of them asked and looked at her.

"Go, get out, I'll be right behind you all"

Ray knew she was lying but she used her flames to blow a path for them.

"Come on! The princess will be fine!!"

Sera jumped out of the window with Aubrey following after her. Remus hesitated for a moment but quickly followed after them with Ray high on his ass.
