------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Sorry for calling you all here so suddenly" Lolopechka starts. I gaze around the room at everyone, all of them having changed so much. What did I expect though? 6 months passed like a morning breeze and suddenly we're about to go to war with another kingdom. I let out a breath as I look toward Lolopechka, who wears a worried expression.

"They're currently in the strong magic region correct?"

"Yeah...that would mean they should be weakened by the time they reach the border. That will be when we strike" Mimosa finishes

"Actually...they won't be"

"Lolopechka is right" I interject. "They move on a mobile fortress, meaning they're probably using the magic of their citizens to keep moving. That would leave their actual warriors in top condition ready to fight.

Asta leaps up on his sword, immediately flying out. While everyone tries to reason with him, I simply shake my head. "Just leave him, there's no use trying to get him to come back."

'Go Asta'

"Y/n, you follow after him" She instructs. I simply nod and hop on my broom following after him. I stretch my arms as I watch him fly through at a fast speed, deciding to let him do what he wants for now.

"Shouldn't we be going faster than we are? Asta is leaving us in the dust"

"He's got this. He should introduce himself first. Everyone will be confused to see me wearing a Clover kingdom cloak with a heart kingdom grimoire."

After a while, we get to the machine, and both of us watch someone fly out of the window, and then a second.

"Yeah it should be good now" I head in, hoping off of my broom next to Asta.

"There's more?" Someone speaks, causing me to smile

"Yes, we're all going to save you"

"There's so many soldiers! You'll die!" A women screams, causing Asta and myself to stop walking.

"I wouldn't underestimate the two of them if I were you" Kaito sneers, letting out a small laugh. "You're all in good hands"

An alarm begins to blare, multiple soldiers falling from different parts of the fortress. My grimoire flies out, fire and wind flowing through my hands and hitting the enemies. Their sinister laughs echo through the room, frightening the people sitting, being able to do nothing but watch, making my frustration rise. I move positions, setting up a shield over them and focusing on the fight. Kaito does his own amount of fighting and soon, they're all taken out. Letting out a breath, I put away my grimoire and lower the shield to be met with shocked and shaken faces. Asta and I exchange glances, confused about what they're so intrigued by.

"A-Are you...." One starts

"Your grimoire! You're..."

"The Golden Heart! It's really you!"

'Oh....that's what they're on about'

"Please be careful!" An older male speaks up, standing with a grim look on his face. "The dark triad...they've been looking for you"

My eyes widen at the mention of them, and myself in the same sentence. "Why? What do they want?"

"I-I don't know, but i overheard the guards talking about you and saying that the dark triad was looking for a mage that wielded the power of the elements."

"Alright, thank you for your information"

"Y/n!" I hear Finral call as I'm about to walk further in the fortress. "You're needed back in clover kingdom"

"Man....oh well. Asta, Noelle, Mimosa, take care of them. I'll be back to join the battle soon"

He opens the spatial portal, letting Kaito and I walk through it, arriving right in front of Golden Dawn. Taking in a breath, Kaito and I walk through the entrance, nervousness and anticipation filling me body. I haven't been here in 6 months...how much has changed? How is everyone doing? How is....Yuno doing? Just as that though comes, I seem him walk through a hall, and his eyes widen slightly. I dash to the other side of the base, hiding behind a wall as I hear footsteps quickly approaching, my eyes harshly shut, praying he doesn't come over here.

"Vice Captain Yuno" Someone speaks. "There is an urgent message for you from Hage village."

"Hage?" His footsteps get quieter and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, then fall to my knees

'Not yet....I'm not ready yet'

"Y/n?" I look up to see Captain William with a confused expression on his face. "What are you doing?"

"Captain!" Without thinking I jump into his arms, shocking him a bit. My eyes widen at my action, quickly pulling away. "Um sorry I don't know what came over me...."

He lets out a small laugh, patting my head gently. "It's alright. I'm glad to see you are well, and can tell you've grown stronger"

I smile, nodding my head as I follow him to is office. He explains what has been going on since I left for training, and what the plan was. Kaito and I listen closely, knowing we'll definitely be on the front lines, both because of the squad we're in, and the sentencing I had received at the trial. A full out war with devil hosts, I wonder if even my power will be enough to stop them. Sure we have Asta and Yuno, Golden Dawn and the Black Bulls, even the spirit guardians from the Heart Kingdom. We have an entire army to fight against 3 devil hosts, but even that makes me uneasy.

"You'll be on the front lines" Captain William speaks, his gaze locked on the window.

"I expected as much." The captain doesn't say anything, but his silence says everything. "Captain, may I speak my mind?"

"...go ahead" Still, he doesn't turn

"The day Sir Julius brought me here, and you gave me a place to stay....at the time I didn't know what was going to happen to me. Would I live or die? Would the people of this kingdom be the cause of it? Or the people that killed my family? I was afraid of everything, but when you said yes to giving me a place on your squad....I felt relieved. I felt like I could start over and have a new family, somewhere new I could belong. And then I met everyone else....and it felt warm. You gave me a place to call home, helped me train, comforted me when I needed it, you gave me a chance. So in case I don't get to say it again...thank you, thank you so much."

The room goes silent, my gaze locked on the ground, but soon some footsteps start to approach me, then stop. He pulls me into his embrace, tears falling on my shoulder as my own arms find my way around him.

"You reminded me so much of myself...and I wanted to protect you...just like Sir Julius protected me" His voice shakes as I feel my own tears start to fall. "Don't talk like you're going to die y/n. You have to come back alive"

'he sounds just like him'

"I will Captain. I promise"
