Chapter 30 - Evaluation

Yuno's POV

I let out a sigh, rolling over on my side as I lay wide awake.

I don't really show much worry for anyone, and if someone gets hurt, it doesn't really concern me, so most people will say that I don't care about others, so will assume I don't care about anyone at all.

Never in my life have I been kept awake at night because of a person, let alone a girl.

'God im so hooked this is terrible'

The sun starts to rise, it's golden rays shining through my window as a let out a long sigh. I begin to close my eyes when

"Yunoooooooo!!!"

"Shut up Bell"

"You're so mean" I roll my eyes and sit up, making my way to my closet to change my clothes.

After the events of the past few days, the resurrection of the elves and whatever that demon was really has taken a toll on most of the citizens of the kingdom, but the magic knights seem mostly normal and just as ready to fight as usual.

Y/n on the other hand, has been extremely quiet and to herself since yesterday. Usually she would come to either say goodnight or stay with me, but she left to her room last night.

"Yunoooooo" an irk mark appears on my head as I turn around. "I'm hungry"

"Your point?" Bell pouts as I let out a sigh.

'It's gonna be a long day'

Y/n's POV

I couldn't sleep last night. For some reason, I was oddly cold, and when I tried to go to sleep, all I had seen was bright flames and dead bodies. I ended up staring up at the ceiling for the rest of the time.

"Where are we going?" Kaito yawns, rubbing his eyes as he sits on my shoulders.

"We're meeting the Captain in the forest and he's going to train with us."

"We're training with the Captain!" he exclaims, then grins. "This just got interesting.

Kaito jumps off my shoulder, changing into his human form and we continue to walk into the forest, finally seeing the Captain.

"There you two are, ready to get started?"

I nod, flipping out my grimoire. "Careful not to get caught by his tree Kaito, it takes your mana."

"Got it"

We both jump in opposite directions, Captain William using his own magic to create a gigantic tree. The roots and branches chase me as I jump from the trees around us and the areas. Suddenly, I am held down and as I try to move, I notice Kaito is also trapped.

"The biggest issue I see" Captain Vangeance jumps down to talk to the both of us. "Kaito has a lot to experience with fighting and has his own style, which is understandable because he's fought with different people. On the other hand Y/n, you seem to not have much faith in your abilities, and tend to stay as far away as you can to protect yourself."

I nod my head and he continues. "I understand you've been training to synchronize yourselves, but it's different training with people you see as your friends, and someone who could be a potential enemy. Y/n, you need to have more faith in yourself, and you and Kaito need to communicate with each other. Let's have another go"

He lets us both go and the both of us retreat back to our starting positions, letting out breaths to concentrate. Kaito and I again jump in different directions, yet this time he doesn't use any of his magic. I run up the tree stem, using the branches that are trying to attack me as a way to get up. I lose my footing and slip, only to be caught by a root that is hanging me upside down. I let out a groan as Kaito appears next to me in the same position, and the captain simply shakes his head with his arms crossed.
