Chapter 57 - Clover Magic Knights Unite

Kaito's POV

Something about Y/n was different when she came back reawakened; I don't know what it is or what exactly happened, but I'm willing to bet it had something to do with Lady Evangeline

If she truly is a descendent of her like I suspect, I consider it a blessing from god

Yuno himself was tense when I showed up without Y/n to help him fight. I'm guessing that's one of the reasons he was so distracted during his battle with Zenon. I wouldn't have guessed he could use two different types of magic though, just like him.

~Flashback~

"Could you just leave us alone" I scoff, protecting Rin behind me. By now, we had been knights for about two months, and being that we grew up in a poor village, we are the target for bullying and mocking amongst the higher ranks.

"Why don't you make me girly boy" I roll my eyes at the nickname that started to go around because of my hair and small figure. They think I can't fight because my body is small due to the way Rin and I grew up. I'm about to open my mouth when a boy around our age speaks first.

"Do you really think you're setting a good example for people? As knights of the Queen we're supposed to help and treat everyone equally. You are unworthy of being called a royal"

"L-Lord Cyrus"

The guy runs away like a cat with a tail between his legs, leaving the two of us and the royal known as Cyrus"

"Why did you help us" I spit out, earning his attention

"My apologies for his behavior, it's unbecoming. I helped simply because I saw something that I view as wrong. Isn't that why knights help people?"

~Flashback end~

Cyrus, to say the least, was gifted.

He had light magic, and he fought elegantly with anyone. The way he moved and dodged, when he changed the form of his magic to create objects and fight with.

Everything he did was well, magical

One day, the three of us were in a bind with some diamond soldiers, and for some reason, Cyrus began to use spatial magic. To say I was shocked was an understatement

I'll bet Yuno is from his bloodline or something.

Y/n's POV

Faster, faster, faster

I dodge and attack at the quickest rate I can, keeping this devil at bay while the others focus on Lucifero. He simply dodges in a bored way, but isn't attacking me, he smiles, jumping back and moving into a sitting position.

"You know...you're interesting. You have magic that no one else has, and you are the person here with most drive to end this"

"Whats your point" I pant, moving my staff up. "Stop talking and lets finish this"

"I like you" He states. "I wonder though if things will turn out the way you think" he sighs, laying back. I tense, moving to stand up straight as he grins, but not making any effort stop me or attack me. "I'm doing playing with you. I'm not trying to make an enemy out of you, I'm only here for one thing"

"Huh?" I feel the air get knocked out of me because Asta comes crashing into me after getting thrown by Lucifero

"Ouch" I stand up while helping Asta up. "Asta are you ok?"

"Yeah I'm fine" I look back at Nacht and Yami in the middle of the fight with Lucifero, the presence of the devil making me shudder in fear and wonder if we'll truly make it out alive. Taking in a deep breath, mana courses through my veins, try to erase any sort of fear I have.

Hesitation will only get me killed, as well as everyone else here

"Lucifero! We will not be defeated!" I scream at the top of my lungs, earning his attention

"You mortals think you can stand up to a supreme power like myself? You all hold your heads far too high" He moves his hand up and before I know it, I move like lightning through the air.

If my training with Iris taught me anything, its to go with your gut and always be a step ahead of you opponent.

Though, I really shouldn't have assumed that I would work on him the same way it works on humans, he is anything but like us.

He laughs as he easily moves his wrist to fling me in a different direction, throwing me off my balance as Asta tries to also attack him at the same time. He flings both of us down, getting ready to strike a final time

"This is what true power is"

As if on queue,  a large amount of magic charges towards him, darting his attention away from us even for a second, allowing me to pick up Asta and back away. I turn to where the magic was coming from to see Yuno with all the captains ready to fight alongside us. A small smile graces my lips, seeing everyone together ready to fight with one another.

"Magic knights hear me! I am the second princess of the heart kingdom! I do not want my kingdom to fall at the hands of this devil! I doubt any of you want to lose you lives here either! The only ones that can touch Lucifer's are myself, Vice Captain Nacht, and Asta! Do everything you can to support us, if not it is futile! You may not be able to do much by yourselves, but assisting us victory will be within our grasp! Now!

Magic knights unite!"

Yuno's POV

Y/n has every asset to becom a strong leader. She successfully managed to rally all the magic knights together to support the few that can actually touch the devil, and is above all else thinking of the people of her country, the people of all our countries.

But I'm being selfish and only thinking of myself

I want her to stay

I want to stay with her

But her duty calls her

And so does mine
