Chapter 48 - Attack In the Spade Kingdom

Morning came almost too quickly, yet being up all night looking through everything Nacht has left here didn't leave me tired at all. Kaito also had been doing his own research hoping to find some stuff about the devil hosts that would answer him about Lady Evangeline, but he didn't seem to find much.

"It's already dawn...Nacht will be here soon" I mutter quietly, my grimoire sitting on my lap as I take a deep breath. "Guess it's now or never"

I open the book, flipping through the pages, then finally reaching the page I was looking for. Mana queen mode. Similar to spirit dive, but very much different. Sure it's a form, but it's like your body becomes mana itself. The natural mana around will be drawn to the holder, it taking the form of an armor, and a weapon. The spell that can bring total destruction if used the wrong way. This is why everyone puts their faith in the golden heart holder

because of this spell alone

I skim through the page about the spell, yet nothing is explained about how to use it, just that I'm able to.

"Kaito..."

He flies over, gazing at the spell and lets out a sigh.

"There's not much I can do. It's in your grimoire, so you have the power to use this, but I can't tell you how because I don't know myself"

~Captain's meeting - Yuno's POV~

"So then...everyone is here" Marx starts as myself and the last captain arrive

An emergency meeting for all the captains had been called after the events of yesterday, and we were informed that around the same time Golden Dawn was attacked, the black bulls were too. I didn't sleep a wink either. Half of the squad is dead, our captain is gone, and I don't know where Y/n is...or if she's even alive.

'Captain...Y/n...'

Marx shows us a report from the black bulls capturing the fight between Asta, Captain Yami and another devil host, as well as when the two were taken by Zenon. I feel my body begin to stiffen, the scenes of yesterday flooding my mind and my body remembering it all too well. He sighs, telling us that's all we had received from the Black Bulls, my eyes darting to where their captain should have been.

I imagined they'd be strong, but the dark triad is on an almost completely different level

"The tree of Qliphoth, which connects this world to the underworld, that's what they're after. In order to create it, they need Yami and Vangeance." The wizard king fills us in

"I can't believe those two were kidnapped...." Rill trails

"They probably let their guard down" The captain of the blue rose knights continues

"Yuno" The Wizard king starts. "Where is Y/n?"

I gulp down the lump in my throat before letting out a breath. "I don't know"

"What?!" Marx exclaims

"You let here live in this kingdom and now you don't know where she is? I don't believe it" Nozel scoffs, causing me to roll my eyes

"Yuno what happened?"

"I was fighting with Zenon, before that though, Y/n was trying to help Captain Vangeance and fighting with him. It eventually got out of hand when she came crashing through the ceiling and the captain was taken. She told me to stand back because he was dangerous, but I ignored her. I ended up getting stabbed by him and then she disappeared."

"Well isn't that interesting" Captain Jack scoffs. "I bet you got scared and overestimated him, Mr Vice captain of the Golden Dawn who almost died!"
