Chapter 17 - Trial

"To be honest I never thought I'd be seeing this place ever again" I sigh as I enter my room, locking my hand with Yuno's.

"Nice place" Kaito sits on my shoulder. "I could get used to living here"

I giggle. "So who exactly are you" Yuno asks, pointing at Kaito

"Name's Kaito, I'm basically the ruler of the spirits"

"Huh? I would have thought you'd be a lot bigger"

An irk mark forms on Kaito's face. "HUH!? YOU WANNA PIECE OF ME"

I sigh. "I'm feeling major deja vu here" I direct my attention back to Kaito. "Down boy"

He pouts, throwing himself on my pillow. "Whatever, I'm going to sleep"

I laugh nervously, turning back to Yuno who is smiling down at me. "Get some sleep" He kisses my forehead. "I'll come by tomorrow morning."

He closes the door and  change into my nightclothes, climbing into bed. I start to move around, and eventually let out a sigh

'Curse my insomnia'

Then I get an idea. "Hey Kaito?"

"No we're not training I'm tired go to sleep" he groans

"Awww you're no fun"

I lay in bed for another hour before I start to feel tired.

'It's already 1am? I should at least try to get some sleep. I want to figure out how to use the rest of my powers.' I stare at my hand, before turning and looking at a sleeping Kaito

"At least we're don't have to run anymore"

~6am~

"Hey hey Y/n wake up" Kaito starts to nudge me awake

"Mmmm 5 more minutes"

"No note five more minutes we have to train your magic"

I open both my eyes, the bright sun causing me to slam them shut. "God bless" I mutter before getting up and changing clothes in the bathroom. I brush my teeth and do my hair in a (Hairstyle) before stepping out and fixing my cloak.

"Ready Kaito?" I smile as he sits on my shoulder

"Let's do this"

We go outside to the forest and run to an empty area so I won't hit anyone. "I should practice the four elements first" my grimoire flies out and I flip to a fire spell.

"Fire magic: Dragon King's rage" The fire takes the form of a dragon heading straight

"Water magic: water surge" The water that forms heads straight for the fire, causing them to both disappear.

"Earth magic: mud wall"

"Wind magic: towering tornado!" I jump down off the mud wall, looking around to see that I caused a lot of damage.

"Man you really need to learn to control your magic" Kaito snorts

I give him a look that says 'really?' sarcastically. He smiles, taking a seat on my shoulder. "You have to learn spirit dive"

"What's that?"

"Basically, I become one with you and you can use my magic as much as you wish"

"So how do I learn that?"

"First of all, we have to build a steady connection. We have to train together and get in sync with each other's magic. Secondly, we might need a little help" Kaito explains
