As we walk towards my car Sam holds Tessas hand, Sam skips and her blond hair swings in the air. I look at Tessa and see the biggest smile on her face, now that I think about it Sam kinda looks like Tessa. The only difference is that Sam has green eyes, I guess out of all the children I've met Sam isn't the worst. I guess she can hang out with us, if she makes Tessa happy that's all I care about.
When we get to my car Tessa opens the back door for Sam, she climbs into the back seat and sits in the middle. Tessa closes the door and turns around to face me, she grabs my shirt and pulls me towards her. I look around before I lean into her.
"Thank you." She says.
"It's nothing." I say.
She leans in and presses her lips into mine, I open the door for her and she gets inside. I walk around the car and get inside, I look in my rear view mirror and see Sam struggling to put her seatbelt on.
"You good back there?" I ask.
"No, I can't reach." She says helplessly.
I sigh before I open my door and get out of the car, I open the back door and lean into the car. I grab the seatbelt and buckle her in.
"Thank you." She says.
"Sure."
I get back in the car and buckle myself in, I look over and see Tessa smiling.
"What?" I ask.
"Nothing." She says with a smile.
She's making such a big deal out of this, I literally just put Sams seatbelt on.
"Do you wanna listen to music Sam?" Tessa asks.
"Sure." She says while she pulls out her coloring book and crayons.
I see her coloring in the back.
"Don't get crayon on my seats." I say.
"Your car is all black, even if I did you wouldn't be able to see it." Sam rolls her eyes.
Sam's comment makes Tessa laugh, to this day it's still the most beautiful sound in the world. I start driving, I don't know where I'm taking the girls yet. Tess turns the radio on and a song I've never heard before come on, she must like it because she turns up the volume. I look and see that the song is called "Feel Something Good".
"I'm bored." Sam whines.
"We have barely been on the road for 5 minutes." I say bluntly.
Tessa nudges my arm.
"How about we play a game?" Tessa suggests.
"Yes." Sam says excitedly.
"Hmmm, how about Eye Spy." Tessa suggests.
"Ok, I'll go first." Sam says.
"I spy something black." Sam says.
Tessas looks around before she looks at me.
"Hardin's shirt?" Tessa asks.
"Nope."
"Uh, Hardin's pants?"
"No." Sam's says.
"His car?" Tessa asks.
"Nope."
"I give up, what was it?" Tessa asks.
