Next morning.

Hardin and I are both pretty busy with work so I haven't seen him much, we just had a business meeting so we were able to steal a kiss in the hallway before he got pulled into a publishing meeting.

I miss him.

I answer a few emails and read a manuscript before I check my calendar, I have a doctors appointment in an hour and I'm nervous. I wish my mom was here, I know I'm an adult but that doesn't mean I don't get nervous. She always took me to my doctors appointments, I guess I'm just not ok with the whole growing up thing.

I read one last manuscript before my phone vibrates signaling me that my appointment is in 30 minutes.

"Crap." I say.

I grab my purse and phone before I check the clock, a cab won't get me there in time. I walk out of my office and walk down the hall to Hardins door. I lightly knock before I walk inside.

"Hey beautiful."

"Hi."

I walk up to his desk, he looks at my purse and fidgeting fingers.

"Are you going somewhere Tess?"

"Uh yeah, I was wondering if I could borrow your car?"

He reaches into his pocket and grabs his key before he gently places them in my hand.

"Where are you going?"

"Uh.............an appointment.........a doctors appointment."

He stands up.

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah, it's just a check up."

"Do you want me to come with you?" He offers.

"No, it's ok. I'm fine, I'll be back in an hour so we can get lunch."

"Ok."

He walks around his desk and steps in front of me.

"Are you sure you don't want me to take you?"

"Yeah I'm sure, I'll be fine."

I leans in and I kiss his lips.

"Bye."

"Be careful." He says.

I turn back and smile before I leave his office, I take the elevator downstairs and walk out to his car. I love driving his car, I feel so sexy.

I get in the car and adjust the seat forwards, I put on my seatbelt before I pull out of the parking lot and get on the road. The doctor Kim suggested isn't far from here, I've never been to a gynecologist before and I'm absolutely terrified. I wish I had someone to take me, if Hardin had come that would have been so awkward and uncomfortable. I just have to put on my big girl pants and deal with it, if I wanna keep having sex with Hardin then I have to take the proper precautions. We can't have kids and we won't alway remember a condom, I have to do this for us.

When I walk inside the office I see a bunch of women and some are pregnant, I walk up to the front desk.

"Hi, my name is Theresa Young. I have an appointment with Dr. Lyle."

The nurse looks down at her papers before she looks up at me.
