The morning is funny, I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the fact that it's raining, or maybe it's the fact that we are going to visit my grandfathers grave.

I asked Hardin if he was ok with it and he said he was, I love him.

I wore my best black dress and my converse, I put on a cardigan and pin my hair up. I just feels like a sad day, I miss my grandfather so much.

I haven't visited his grave in a while and I knew I wanted to see him before Hardin and I returned to the city, I wanna see my grandmother too.

Today might not be very happy for Hardin but I hope he understands that this is really important to me, visiting my grandparents is very important to me.

...

I look in the mirror and smooth the fabric of my dress with my hands, this was the dress I wore to his funeral.

While I look in the mirror I see Hardin walk up behind me, he's wearing a nice black shirt with buttons.

"Are you ready to go love?" He says very gently.

"Yeah."

I give him a faint smile before I grab my purse and we head downstairs, I don't feel like eating anything right now but I know Hardin is probably starving so I eat anyway so he isn't lonely.

I slowly sip my coffee as my mom washes the dishes.

"So what are guys doing today?" She asks.

"We are gonna go visit nana and papa, I haven't seen them in a while." I say softly.

She doesn't say anything else, she knew how close I was with my grandparents. I love them both so much and the fact that I lost them both at the same time is truly heartbreaking.

...

When Hardin is done eating he washes his plate.

I go upstairs and open up the closet where my mom keeps all the photo albums, I decide which one to bring for my grandma. I pick the one with the most photos of my papa.

When I head back downstairs I see Hardin standing by the front door, I give him a faint smile before I hand him the book.

"Can you hold this for a second? I need to get something in the backyard."

"Of course, do you need help?"

I shake my head.

I slowly open the back door and walk to the garden, it starts to drizzle.

I slowly cut a few roses from our bush in the garden, they grew these with me. I gather 12 to make a bouquet before I cut the thorns off, I walk inside and fill a vase with water and put the flowers inside.

"Ok, I'm ready to go."

He nods his head.

"You kids should take an umbrella, the forecast says it's gonna rain." My mom says.

"It's ok, we have one in the car."

Hardin opens the front door and we walk out to the car, once inside he hands me the photo album and I place it in the back seat.

"Are you alright Tess? You seem upset."

"I'm just a little blue that's all."

He gently takes my hand in his and brings it up to his lips, he places a soft kiss on the top before he laces his fingers with mine. I give his a small smile.

The cemetery is only a few minutes away so I tell him which turns to take.

...

Once we get there the rain starts to fall harder.
