Three days later.
...
These past couple of days have been pretty slow, I guess the lust from our relationship has just kinda been off. Of course I didn't expect us to be all over each other every single second of every day but for some reason Hardin has just been weird.
We go to school and work and come back and just kinda hang out, I mean I know there's not really much to do but for some reason I feel like he's hiding something. I know I'm probably just crazy but for some reason I have this gut feeling.
It's probably nothing.
...
This morning my alarm woke us up, as usual Hardin gave me as kiss before he got out of bed and went to the shower.
I woke up feeling funny today, my whole body aches and my head feels like someone is pounding nails in it with a hammer, my throat is on fire and it literally hurts to breathe. I have a few classes and Hardin has work, I can't afford to miss any more classes. I decide to shut my eyes for just a few more seconds.
"Tess?"
I open eyes and see Hardin hovering over me, I sit up.
"I'm awake." I say hoping he believes me.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I ask.
"Because you never fall back asleep, you always wake 10 minutes before your alarm. You have class soon, you're gonna be late love."
"I'm just tired, I'm gonna get ready now. I don't want you to be late for work, I'm fine."
He sits down next to me on the bed, he smells amazing and his hair falls perfectly. His messy sexy look never fails to impress, his inked arms are rather veiny today and I can't help but wish he would stay here with me all day and hold me.
I would ask him to stay but I know how important his book is too him and it's not fair for me to keep him from doing what he loves. I'm probably fine, I just need some Advil.
"Darling are you sure you're ok? You can tell me anything."
He grabs my hand.
"Yes, I promise. Now go, you're gonna be late. Those chapters won't write themselves."
He gives me a look, I know he doesn't believe me. It quit literally takes all my strength to get up out of bed, who knew standing was such a challenge.
"See, I'm fine. Promise."
He stands up and examines my face.
"Ok, you want me to drive you to class? I know it's far from here and you're not dressed yet."
"No it's ok, Kim said she was gonna get me."
Lie, I hate lying to him but I know his book has a deadline and he really needs to work.
"I'll be back at 5, don't hesitate to call me if anything."
"Don't worry about me, I'm fine."
He lightly sighs before he grabs his backpack and his keys, he leans in for a kiss but I back away. If I am sick I definitely don't wanna give him what I have, the last thing I want is for him to get sick.
"I haven't brushed my teeth."
He definitely knows that something is up.
"Tessa what are you not telling me?"
"Nothing, you're gonna be late."
"Tessa I don't c......"
"Hardin, please just trust me................I'm fine."
