How did this all manage to go down hill so fast? We were doing so good, I had so much hope that we were gonna make it. I shouldn't have said that I didn't love him, I do love him. I love him more than I love myself, I know that's not good but it's true. All I want is for him to feel the same way, I just want him to put in effort. With him it's always one step forward and three steps back.
I sit on the floor of the bathroom and pull my legs into my chest, I rest my head on the wall. I hear a huge crash in the room, I quickly jump to my feet and open the door. When I get in the room I see broke pieces all over the floor, it takes me a few seconds to realize that it's my laptop. I look up at Hardin and see anger rushing threw his face.
"Are you fucking kidding? My laptop Hardin!"
"Grow up Tessa! It's just a laptop!"
He walks over to my desk and throws all my things to the floor.
"HARDIN STOP!"
I pull his arm but it's no use, he grabs a snow globe from my dresser.
"PLEASE NO, that's the last thing I have from my grandfather. I know you're hurting but please don't break that."
I see hatred wash over his face before he lets go and the glass shatters on the floor. I drop to knees as I see the glitter seep into the carpet, I try to collect the pieces but it's no use. He broke it, I stand up and face him.
"WHATS YOUR FUCKING PROBLEM!"
"I'm fine Tessa, you're the fucking problem!"
"I can't believe you're doing all of this because I said I didn't love you!"
This hurts him, I see pain wash over the innocent boys eyes.
"I don't care if you don't love me." He spits.
"Then why are you acting this way!"
He doesn't answer me, he just looks down at the mess he made. He looks down at the scattered pieces of my heart.
"These are just unimportant items, it's not a big deal."
"Not a big deal! The last pictures I had with my grandfather before he died were on my laptop, all my essays, all my work! EVERYTHING! My parents got me that! That snow globe was the only thing I had left of him because Nick broke the camera! How could you do that! All this because I pulled a card out of your book and decided to give you a taste of your own medicine!"
I'm out of air, he just stares at me.
"I didn't know that......" He says quietly.
"I thought you were different Hardin............you promised you weren't like Nick."
"I'm nothing like Nick!" He screams.
"Take a look in the mirror Hardin!"
He just stares at me, I have never seen him get so violet. He stares at his hands before he takes a step towards me, I back away.
"Stay away from me."
"Tessa I'm sorry."
"Sorry isn't good enough Hardin."
"No please Tessa, I."
"No! Hardin I can't live like this!"
"I'm trying!
"No you're not! Hardin this isn't ok! YOU BARLEY HOLD MY HAND ITS LIKE YOU'RE EMBARRASSED TO BE SEEN WITH ME! I'm barley your girlfriend! Everything we do is in secret, it's like you're hiding me! YOU LITERALLY JUSY BROKE ALL MY STUFF! YOU'RE HAPPY ONE DAY MAD THE NEXT! It's like I don't know which Hardin I get when I wake up in the morning! With you it's always 1 step forward 3 steps back! I know you've never had a girlfriend but this is unacceptable! I have enough self respect then to put up with your bullshit! I'm leaving! Call me when you're ready to start taking things seriously!"
