Hardin Chapter 48

I can't believe she didn't tell me she was sick, I should have realized this morning. She looked sick but I didn't wanna hurt her feelings in case she wasn't so I just didn't say anything. I wouldn't have forgiven myself if something had happened to her while I was gone.

I hate Kim but I have to appreciate how she's always looking out for Tessa.

After driving for a bit I realize that the car is unusually quiet, I look over and see that Tessa fell asleep.

For some reason the sight makes me smiles.

I turn the AC down and lightly crack the windows open so that she doesn't get too cold, I reach over and touch her forehead. She's still so hot, I don't even know how she got sick.

Yesterday we just watched TV and ate Chinese but that's what we usually do, she was fine before. When we fell asleep she seemed fine, I don't know why she woke up so sick.

I just hope she's ok.

Once we get to the doctors office I park the car, I walk over to Tessas door and gently pick her up making sure not to wake her. I carry her inside.

"Name?" The nurse asks.

"Theresa Young, I made an appointment a few hours ago."

Kim was actually the one who made the appointment but whatever.

"You can sit down, the doctor will see you shortly."

I walk over to the waiting area and slowly sit down, Tessa slowly stirs awake.

"Hardin?"

I lean in and whisper to her.

"I'm right here love, don't worry."

She buries her face in my neck and wraps her arms around me.

"I love you." She whispers.

"I love you more darling."

I feel her kiss my neck, I lightly massage her hips while I hold her.

"Theresa Young?"

I slowly shake her.

"Tess, it's time to wake up."

"No.............hold me please."

I ponder for a moment before I slowly stand up and carry her into the room, I sit her on the bed and she yawns before she rubs her eyes.

I sit in the chair across the bed, I stare at her and she looks like she's in so much pain.

I feel so bad.

"Ok Theresa, what seems to be the problem?" Asks the doctor.

"I don't know, I woke up this morning feeling sick. I have a head ache and a cough and I threw up this morning, my throat hurts too."

The doctor nods her head before she types on her laptop, she then uses hand sanitizer before she walks up to Tessa and listens to her heartbeat with her stethoscope.

"And who is this?"

The doctor asks while she points at me.

"Your brother?" She questions.

"No, he's my boyfriend." Tessa says before she sneezes.

"Oh, well is there a chance that you're pregnant?" The doctor asks.

Tessa looks at me and we make awkward eyes contact before she looks away.

"No."

"Are you sure?"
