Kim Namjoon
"They are all on their way. Shouldn't be long if the route is clear."
I notice the tense strain in Jooheon's voice and the pensive expression on his face as he sits back in his chair. A gloomy air even from the Holocam.
I nod firmly. "They've left safely already? You've given the proper coordinates, yes?"
Rolling his eyes, he clicks his tongue in annoyance. "Don't patronize me, Captain. I'm every bit as capable of doing things as you—if not more so. Look at the mess you've created." He smirks. "All those years of struggling and training and climbing the ladder to the top only for what? You've let it all go for some simple little earthling. Fallen from grace for what? A nothing in the grand scheme of things. Something you wouldn't even do for your pregnant soul-bonded mate you claimed to love more than anything. How odd."
I mull over his words, careful not to take the bait and get angry. I raise a brow. "Why do you want to keep Hoseok so badly? You'd even hide him and go against those of your own kind...for what? Nothing, right? How odd."
He glares at me before disconnecting. I sit in silence for several moments. Hopefully he's being honest and I can breathe a little easier having my soldiers here. I need Taehyung and the others here.
I very much care about their well-being. Seokjin was my number one priority but now that he's safe with our baby...I can refocus my attentions on my men. They deserve it. They've remained solid and loyal to me through it all. Fall from grace...but I'm still there Captain. Their leader. They still need me and I need them. Commanding is in my blood. I can't give it up completely.
I just hope they aren't interrupted on their voyage here. It's too dangerous. If they were to be caught by another species...or even worse—our own people—they would be thrown in prison and executed as traitors.
It's my belief and hope that our planet will simply think we were attacked and failed our mission. They would not bother to retrieve our bodies. They would easily just gather another round of soldiers to begin anew. A problem for another day.
Let them forget about us. I very much know that each and every one of my men all have reasons for wanting to join the mission and escape the planet. None of us ever really wanted to return but duty bound us. That is no longer the case and I'm sure they would all happily remain here and rebuild with me. A more peaceful life. One that could never be hoped on our old world.
We can build our own new world. A moon base of mixed breeds and species and new powers and skills and mindsets. It could be quite a journey on its own.
One I'm ever boy prepared to guide into fruition.
"You are pacing again."
I stop subconsciously and glance down at my partner sitting on the floor bouncing the baby on his lap. He gives me a little smile.
"Sorry."
Shaking his head, he sighs. "Don't apologize. I know you're worried about the others getting here. It should be soon, right?" He asks hesitantly.
I truly appreciate Jin's understanding and patience. I know I haven't been the best company lately with the stress.
I give a curt nod. "Yes. Any time now. I'm watching out for them." I frown. "I would be more at ease if I could contact any of them." Especially Taehyung.
"I can't wait for Jimin to get here. I miss him."
We both glance down as Korain coos and tugs at Jin's shirt. Hungry again.
Jin tsks. "So greedy." Rolling his eyes with love all over his face, he stands and prepares to head into the bedroom. I stop him, touching his arm gently.
"Feed him here. No one is around." It intrigues and fills me with joy to watch him feed our child.
A blush overcomes his cheeks. "It's....kinda embarrassing."
I raise a brow as his shirt becomes wet and translucent from the fresh milk dripping. I like my lips but hold myself back. Self control. "It seems you can't wait. Just do it here. I'll leave you be."
Pouting, he rolls his eyes and tugs his wet shirt away from his nipples. "Fine but stay over there." He points across the room. Smirking, I salute him and head over, noticing the huge window he's allowed me to stress in front of. To distract me. It works, sadly.
My eyes light up after a few minutes, however, as a bright light I recognize as a ship begins flying closers to the moon base. I stand and point out for Jin to see. He smiles brightly.
I kiss his pale cheek then Korain's cute little milk stained lips before heading for my gear to meet them outside.
The first soldier out is Taehyung. He grins at me widely, saluting, then leadings a beastly Jimin out of the ship and into the airlock. The beast trots around, seeking out Jin. Once spotting him and the baby, he yelps happily before racing over to them and laying down, tail wagging.
We watch as Jin sits Korain against Jimin's soft pink fur and he grabs a little fistful before cooing and snuggling into it.
It's...everything. My heart soars at the sight.
Taehyung bites his lip. "I really want that."
I smile at him. "You can here. This can be our new home. We can make families here."
"You think so?"
I claps a hand over his shoulder. "I do. We can have everything we want and need here. I really think this is a good idea."
He studies me for a long moment. "I think so, too, Captain."
"Just call me Namjoon, Tae."
"Namjoon."
I let him go to his Jimin while I help all the others soldiers out of the ship and find them rooms. They all seem relieved to be in a stable environment.
A long time soldier I've worked with for a long time comes to stand beside me and stares at my mate and son. A look of hope and envy crosses his face. "Captain, do you really think we can find partners and create families here? That we can be happy?"
I admire the view before me. "Yes, I truly do. Be at ease here."
This will truly be all of our own new beginnings. A new home. A new future.
