Kim Seokjin
I wake up disoriented and hot. Too hot. Way too hot. My eyes flutter open and I try to take in a deep breath only to feel a heavy weight pressed down on my chest.
The bright white ceiling of the medical room glares back at me, hurting my eyes. I groan and feel the heavy weight lift off me.
A pink haired, yellow eyed, cutie looks at me from the cot I'm on. I stare at him, unable to speak or form my many questions.
"You're awake!" He cries out, hugging me tightly. I wince and he stops. "Sorry."
I blink a few times. "W-What...happened..." My throat is raw and my words are raspy.
He plays with the sheet covering me, a guilty look on his young innocent face. "It's my fault. I shouldn't have used you to try to get free. You got hurt because of me. I'm really sorry. You protected me."
I manage a small smile. "I don't b-blame you. I didn't want you t-to get hurt, either." I whisper.
He gets off the cot, now walking around the room. I notice he's not restrained and seems rather calm for being a wild...beast.
"H-how long have I been out?"
He tilts his head, a perplexed look on his face. "Out?"
I rephrase. "How long have I been passed out?"
"Ah. In human terms...I believe you would say two weeks."
"T-two weeks?!"
He nods. "The stun gun was very powerful. It was made for hybrids like myself. Humans are not as strong—no offense. It took a very bad toll on your body. Jungkook put you in a medical coma for a few days."
I notice his speech has improved. He really does adapt well, huh... "Have you tried for them to take you back?"
He hesitates for a long moment. "No. I've been speaking with Taehyung and..."
I immediately notice the change in his tone and the blush on his cheeks just mentioning the solider. "You like him?"
"Like him?"
"You know...um...think he's attractive?"
"He is handsome and smart. He makes me feel safe. I've always been alone since a pup on my planet. Katarians are not nurturers. Once born we are pretty much left to fend for ourselves. I've lived alone in my nest for many many years. I suppose it's nice to be able to communicate with another being...even an alien."
I smile and try to sit up. Immediately lightheaded, I lay back down and sigh. "Am I okay now? Why am I still so weak?" Another thought comes to mind. "And where is everyone else?"
"Jungkook is getting some rest and I volunteered to watch over you." He pouts. "Taehyung and the captain left. They are down on Octavian C. Some kind of hostile water planet." He shudders. "I do not like water."
I chuckle weakly, thinking about earth cats and their own hatred for water. Suppose some things never change planet to planet. "Are they getting someone else?" I'm conflicted about that.
He nods. "Though I do not know how they plan to lure one of those wicked reptilians." He wrinkles his nose. "They are quite evil, I've read."
"Read?" He can read now?
"Yes, I've been in here with you for the past two weeks and have done nothing but learned about your earth and the other planets and people on this ship. I believe I've learned enough to fit in with all your planets—except Octavian C—Vile creatures."
I try again to sit up—much slower this time—and succeed. He helps me. "You are very light." He comments.
"Well I haven't ate in two weeks, have I? I'm starving, actually..." I grab my stomach as it lets out a growl.
"Jungkook has been tube feeding you." He motions to the IV in my arm. I'm seriously tired of seeing that.
"Hm."
"Would you like some sustenance?"
I smile at his word choice. "Yes, actually. Do you think it would be okay to remove this?" I frown at the tubing.
He shrugs. "You don't need it anymore, correct? I believe it should be okay."
Nodding, I carefully remove the IV—wincing—before placing a little bandage over the entry point. I have to have him help me stand. My legs are wobbly and my entire body feels like it's made of lead as we slowly make our way to the kitchen area.
I really hate being human right now. I'm glad to have helped Jimin but jeeze. I need to stop ending up in these situations for real.
"Sit. I'll make your food." I sit and watch in awe as his small form flitters around the small kitchen unit and makes a meal out of nowhere. I blink down at the hot fresh plate of steak as potatoes with veggies. My stomach growls.
"How did you..."
"I told you. I've been learning."
So he has. I ruffle his hair and he smiles, his eyes heart shutting as he does so. It's adorable. I eat ravenously, all the while he watches me.
Self consciously I offer him my plate but he just shakes his head. "Eat. You need to regain your strength."
I finish in record time and yawn. How can I be so tired when being unconscious for two weeks? It's ridiculous. I wonder what Namjoon thinks about my little savior stunt...
Clearing my throat, I stand. "I want to go lay down in my room."
"I'll take you."
I settle on the bed as he fusses around me. God, was I ever scared of him? He's a soft little cuddly mochi. Thinking about it now, even his beast side is kinda cute. He doesn't seem the dangerous type. He was just defending himself before.
"So how are—"
I'm cut off my loud beeping and the sound of struggling as Namjoon and Taehyung get back.
Both of us stare at my closed door as the loud screeching and grunting moves passed us down the hall in rapid speed. I shiver at the hissing noise.
Jimin shudders. "The reptilian is here. Let's hope he doesn't escape like me. I do not believe he would spare us like I did for you." He whispers.
I nod silently, opening my arms for him to climb into bed with me. I realize it was his warm comforting weight laying on top of me when I woke. I like it. He makes me feel safe. Like I'm not alone. I guess we both have that in common here.
