DAMRU
Hinduism has a deep connection with dance, art, yoga and music. Hinduism believes that the universe was created by sound and pure light. The soul is the cause of this world. Some sounds are considered sacred and mysterious in Hinduism. For example, temple bell, conch, flute, veena, manjira, kartal, pungi or bean, dhol, nagara, mridang, chimta, tuntuna, ghatam, dotar, tabla and damru.
What is Damru: Edamru or Dugadugi is a small musical instrument. According to the research of Webdunia, damaru has been considered of great importance in Hinduism, Tibetan and Buddhism. Damru is depicted in the hands of Lord Shankar. Damru will often be found near sadhus and madaris.
A rope is tied in the middle of this cone-shaped drum, in which a piece of stone or bronze is attached to the first and second ends.
