Ganga devi :

By witnessing that angry sight, he was consumed there in a moment. Hearing this news, King Sagar's eyes started shedding incessantly. Being sad, he went to the deep forest. Then his son Asmanjas did penance for a long time for the salvation of his brothers, but in the end he too became the kaleva of Kaal. Thereupon Anshuman, son of confusion (grandson of King Sagara) brought back that horse after doing a lot of service to Kapil Muni.

By which the king's sacrifice was completed. The Yagya was completed but sixty thousand Kumars were consumed. They could not be free in any way. Anshuman also asked Kapil Muni the remedy for the liberation of those princes. Then he said that when Gangaji comes on earth, then only they will be saved.

Anshuman tried his best to bring Gangaji to earth, but failed. Later, Anshuman's son Dilip became the official of the kingdom. He also did a lot of penance to bring Ganga by obeying his father's orders, but he too could not succeed. Bhagiratha, the son of King Dileep, was a great devotee of God, a scholar, a man of unwavering virtue in Shri Hari.
